Mine came obviously used, based on cosmetics only. Not a big deal, as I knew that was a possibility buying refurbished.What wasn't good was the twist vent selectors to alter the sound profile. They we're *extremely* loose, as in there was no grip holding them in the position I chose at all.I have older ones purchased and in use for years and they still have plenty of grip. So I don't think this was "properly" refurbished.I will say it sounded fine, so it got 2 stars for that. But mine at least had more issues than "just cosmetic" stuff. Read more
The media could not be loaded. Beautifully designed, but I personally didn't care for the "quality" of the noise. It sounded much too abrasive for my tastes. Also a distinct motor sound is present. That can be reduced by placing it on the floor, but it's still there.What sounds pleasant is subjective, so you might like it more than I did. Overall I prefer my basic oscillating table fan. We’ve used the speaker style sound machines for 3 years and finally got tired of changing batteries or replacing because they speaker broke. My 3 yr old sleeps better with the fan of the marpac design and he used to say he didn’t like the noise of the speaker ones, he has not once said the sound is “scary” with the fan. No problems since they’re refurbished, I was hesitant but glad I ended up buying. No scratches or dings in the plastic and we’ve had for about a month and nothing crazy with function. I purchased a refurb for a discount and it arrived in good packaging. Upon having left it turned on for about 30 mins it smelled like burnt plastic. My previous new dohm did not have this issue, and have had it for over 2 years and still going strong. Read more
Bought refurbished, apparently they didn’t even test it before boxing it back up because it doesn’t work at all. You can kind of hear it trying to start up but it kind of seemed like they just put a “refurbished” sticker on the box without even trying to fix it? Very disappointed. Read more
