I am a new mother, trimming my baby's nails can be pretty nerve---wracking, leading to sweaty, shaky hands—which of course only makes things worse. Caution--choking hazard. The white peg on the scissors fell off after the first time I used this. My baby is only 4.5 months just now, but I'd be super cautious when using them and keep them out of her reach. The peg slipped right back in and I don't know how much use it'll take for it to fall out again.That said, the scissors do work great. Easy and safe. I showed my husband by using the "blades" to pinch the skin on my finger. No pain. No cuts. I was able to trim her nails while she was awake and sitting in my lap! Read more
My one year old absolutely loves this kit! The seal character is so cute and she is always excited when it’s time to trim her nails because I let her hold its head. This kit definitely has everything you need for an infant to a child. I use this product on both of my kids, 1 and 8, and I plan on using it on my son due in January as well. The scissors in the kit are great for hang nails and the file is perfect for infants who you cannot use the clippers on yet. The Yiveko Baby Nail Kit was given to me as a gift just before the birth of my baby. The kit includes scissors, nail clippers, tweezers, and an emery board. I used the scissors almost immediately upon bringing my daughter home from the hospital, as her finger nails were already too long and needed trimmed. I felt confident using them on a newborn because they have blunt tips and there is very little risk for cutting the baby's skin while using them. I found them to be the perfect thing for a newborn! This is such a handy, well made little set and as a bonus, so darn cute!! I've been so paranoid about trimming my 3 month old son's nails! Until now I've actually managed to peel the long bits off safely after a bath but as he's getting bigger they're getting thicker and I can't really do that very well anymore and I'm worried about peeling too far. I was actually just looking for a glass file for his nails but when I saw this set at the same price as some single files I decided to try it. I'm so glad I did! Unbelievably helpful kit for my baby boy. He always scratches at his head when he is frustrated and I was having a lot of trouble getting his nails short enough with other baby clippers. I ordered the red version, which honestly looked more brown than red anyway. The box says "red" however this is clearly not the same color. Save yourself money and get the Safety First clippers. These nail clippers don’t cut the nail near as well as the Safety First brand. Haven’t tried the scissors yet so I can’t comment on those, and the files, well they’re files and work just fine. Baby nails can be sharp and you don't want to see the baby's face with scratches. It worries me, and I tried using my nail clipper on them and it just didn't feel right. I’m the very beginning we filed our newborn daughters nails, but it can be frustrating because she won’t just sit there and allow you to file her nails. After we got this, it cuts down the nail cutting time to just roughly 5 mins.
