That color gel is great (it applies transparent dont worry it wont green your hair!) and so is the smell, but believe me its performance is as great as it looks!I used Suavecito, Axe, Paul Mitchel, American Crew, so many brands and nothing comes close as everything being great together in Woody's pomade. The hold is medium, you can apply like crazy for firm, or apply little with wet hands for lose hair. Unlike Suavecito, this doesn't get sticky at all. It does the job quite well, adds a great shine, leaves the hair AND scalp feeling good and refreshed not sticky or dry. Washes off very well. At below $8 price point can you ask for more? Compared to AXE $14 ?? Woody's just fantastic! Read more

I absolutely Love all the products Woody’s has to offer. My only issue is, every mirror that I come across, I have to pause to see how great I look by using their products! And the women will not leave me alone! Oh well, I guess I’ll have to get used to all the attention. Thanks Woody’s. Read more

When I first got my hair cut into a faux hawk, my barber kept using Woody's Web and I liked it way better than the Axe Messy Look paste I'd been using when I had a quiff. For comparison, the Axe was good for adding some texture to longer hair with a very light hold. The Woody's smelled good, added texture, but then also gave me a bunch more hold and styling capabilities. I liked it so much that I switched after a couple of barber visits because the difference was undeniable. One tin will last you a long time! I bought mine back in Sept. 2016 and am nearing the end now, but still probably have another couple of months left. Granted, I don't apply Woody's every day, only after I wash my hair, which is once or twice a week. For application, my recommendation is to not try to get the entire dose of wax in at once, but to add it in steps. This helps with even distribution. As other people have said, put a dollop in your palm and rub your hands together to warm the wax, then start from the back of your head forward, rubbing it in all over. If you put it on with wet hair and leave it, it will result in a wet look. I personally lightly wet my hair (like get hands wet, run through hair), before applying, as I find it a lot easier to distribute the product, plus I avoid the gel-like wet look. The smell is nice, it's not overpowering or unpleasant as some reviews state. Not sure how to describe the smell, but it's mellow, I'd say it's unisex bordering on masculine, and honestly, it's not that noticeable once it's in your hair. Someone would have to have their nose close to you to smell it, and the fragrance fades in time. It's not really a complaint, I just ordered another tin of Woody's (this time trying Mold It), so I'm quite happy... Just an observation.. but I will say that I've noticed that over the 2+ years I've had the tin, the product has changed, which is understandable given the amount of time and that it contains some natural ingredients. The top layer turns a bit darker where it's oxidized, and the wax itself has become clumpier in my hair, sort of resembling dandruff. Time for a new tin. :) Read more

I have used crew forming cream for years and it's expensive. I tried woodys just to see what it is. I don't care for the smell at all. It is somewhat faint though so I can live with that. It's a bit thicker than what im used to. I put some in my hand and add hot water to thin it. I apply to damp hair. The hold is ok. It falls out after a while but i add some warm water to my hands and run it through and it brings back the hold some. I did the same thing with the crew forming cream. For now it's ok. I mainly bought this for the price. Again it does work but if the price goes up I am definitely not buying again. Read more

Greasy, greasy, greasy. Oh yah, did I say it’s greasy? This stuff is basically just pomade. Difficult to wash out of hair and even your hands. Also, doesn’t hold well. I bought this product because my usual go to product was out of stock and needed something quickly. Will not be purchasing again. If you are looking for a non greasy, matte finish/natural look hair cream, look elsewhere. Read more

Works great! No waxy build up. No flaking. No fake shine. Can recomb without a problem.I'll admit I didn't like it at first, but that's because I didn't follow instructions. I have short hair and I use a pea sized amount on towel dried hair. Holds without a crunchy feel all day! This is now, my only hair product!!With my hair, this one tub will last me 6 months or more!It washes out of my hair easily with my normal shampoo. It is slightly difficult to wash off my hands. This for me is a great product. I live in Montana where the air is dry and so is my skin and hair. Many clays are too matte. This is low-shine but not overly matte which makes hair look terrible (especially in MT). It's not water-based so to get it out you will have to use either a clarifying shampoo, shampoo twice w/ normal shampoo, or use some Groom n' Clean in your hair before jumping in the shower. The container came dented which is annoying, but it's good enough goo that I kept it. Not a deal breaker. The price is crazy low compared to similar products. Some I've paid 2 or 3x the price for products inferior to this. Btw, Woody's pomade is pretty dope, too. Impressed with their products, especially for the price. Read more

I have unruly hair and when I'm traveling on business I need to present a clean cut and professional appearance. My hair is thick and worn in a "military taper", 3-4" long on top with a 3/2 clipper fade on the sides and back. Woody's holds it where it needs to be all day and only with a small amount of product (a container lasts me several months).Rub a dime to nickel size amount between your hands and work it through semi-dry hair from back to front, comb it where you want it and go. It will take it a few minutes to "set" but once its there it will stay, the more water you add or the wetter your hair the longer it will take. I prefer unscented products but they are rare, this one smells good, what I consider a light masculine scent, and it fades over time. Read more

I tend to be quite particular about what hair products I use. This stuff really works for short hair and has a matte finish. It has a nice short-lived smell well and is easy to apply and only requires a small amount if you have short hair. The other product I use is da wax which is about 2 to 3 times more expensive although I appreciate is a different product but the end result of both the same. The container is well made and easy to take on trips. I'd recommend buying one to see if it suits especially if you have short hair. Read more

Excellent product!I've been buying this for about 18 months now, but suddenly the price has risen dramatically.I purchased 2 tubs in November 2013 for £14.52 (£7.26 each), now Amazon wants £9.77 each tub in February 2014.I'm afraid to say that unless the price is more reasonable/competitive, I'll go elsewhere. Light but effective, works well on semi dry hair...I have very straight and light hair - this does a great job of holding shape for most of the day. It's only when I get rained on that it needs a bit more work. Read more
