Pads are rougher than I’m used to. Had to make an adjustment using them on my face by lightly grazing over my skin. I like them! The wear down over time so, as the wear down I adjust the pressure I use. I also cut them in halves. They are huge and a whole pad isn’t necessary for the face. I have been using Buf Puf’s since I was a teenager. I have noticed they are impossible to find now. If I do, they are the sensitive ones, the white ones that come apart after two days. I ordered these hoping they would do the job.I have to say I am impressed! Like another reviewer, I cute mine in half. It did not unravel or cause any issues, cut perfectly without messing up the sponge. I think it is perfect for washing your face! It is thick and holds water. The first use it felt too abrasive but after that, it was perfect. It has been a week and I am still using the first sponge, there is little to no wear on it. I am thinking every two weeks I will replace it. Since I use soap, it is clean. I also have noticed skin that used to form under my make up, such as dry skin or chapped is gone! These do a great job at really getting your face clean and polishing your skin without getting rid of the oils it needs.I am very impressed and will continue to buy these. Read more

Not bad for price; far better, cost-wise than Ye-Olde Buff Puffs. I personally don't care about initial rough texture-- that's kind of immaterial, I think, considering that, the sturdier it's made, the tougher/rougher it's bound to be initially. Like my old man used to say: "Back in my day, we used Sand and a Brick" (whatever). So: scrub more lightly??? The key thing, now, to me is: how long will they last? Hmmm. Clearly made less dense than Buff-puffs, which themselves seemed to decrease quality over the years. Already these are: pilling ... and ... separating in the middle, as they apparently are made of various "fabric" weaves pressed together. Nevertheless: one gets that "just scrubbed tingly feeling", and though I'm no Dermatologist, this style of cleaning just HAS to act as a superior defoliant/exfoliant to a normal facecloth. The verdict is in. They came in yesterday and I used one right away. These puffs are very rough. I can't understand why this product got an average of 4 stars. Many reviews said to use it lightly (VERY LIGHTLY - yes, I shouting!!!) and I totally agree. These pads are similar to Scotch-Brite Multi-Purpose Scrub Sponge. I'm going to use them for scrubbing my non-stick pots and pans. It's an expensive lesson here. Read more

I purchased these because I’ve been using Buf-Puf for a while, and wanted a cheaper option. After reading the reviews and how satisfied other ex-buf-puf consumers were, I decided to try these out. I’m very disappointed in them, and wish I hadn’t wasted my money. Unfortunately this company doesn’t accept returns.FYI: These sponges feel NOTHING like buf-puf, so if you’re looking for a comparable replacement, these are not them.They are super stuff and rough. I might as well scrub sandpaper to my face.The elasticity also sucks. Where as buf-puf returns to its original shape after use, these do not, which makes me curious about what materials they use for these.Everyone said that after the first initial use, they soften. Love these. This is my second bag full. Each sponge lasts me several months. As you use them they become flatter but are just as effective if you apply a little more pressure. The texture is like the original white Buf-Pufs, fairly stiff/coarse, which I love for my oily skin. Used this type of sponge for 20+ years, but these are priced very nicely and work just as well as the more expensive ones I've purchased in the past. I will keep ordering at this great price. Mixed feelings about these. I have traditionally used a Buf Puf with glycerin soap to lightly buff the little flakes of skin caused by regular Retin-A use off my skin. On the one hand, you get twelve of these for approximately the price of one Buf Puf. Gotta love that, right. These *are* a little more abrasive (courser) than the standard (blue box) Buf Puf, but I don’t think super-significantly rougher. Certainly nothing I couldn’t easily adjust for by just using lighter pressure with it while scrubbing it about my face. No, that’s not my issue with it. My issue is that it seems like it’s going to wear out faster than a typical Buf Puf. How much faster is what I’m unsure of yet. If you are used to using a Buf Puf, you know that after a number of uses they start to flatten out and bend in the middle, etc. They are still usable for a quite a while even after this starts to happen, but they do get a little worn looking and feeling with extended use. So, this product just seems to be degenerating into that condition at a faster rate than my Buf Puf. On the other hand, there are twelve of them instead of one for the same price. So, I guess I’m going to work my way through this twelve-count bag and then decide whether to stay with this or go back to Buf Puf. I’m leaning toward staying with these (again, twelve for the price of one so even if each wears out faster, I’ll probably still get longer use from the bag of them overall as compared to one Buf Puf). This will be an ongoing experiment as I work my way through the bag. Read more

I have used Buf Puff pads for years which were Great for exfoliating. Can't get them anymore so bough these. They work almost as well. Only use once or twice a week and the skin feels smooth and silky and looks radiant. People are always commenting that I have great skin.
