Read more What to Prepare Wella colorcharm Permanent Liquid 5WR & 7WR , bowl & brush, gloves, towel, old t-shirt , protective barrier cream (like coconut oil) and a timer. Mixing and Applying All- over color: 1. Section the hair in 4 quadrants by creating a centered part from forehead to nape and from ear to ear. 2. Mix 1 part WELLA colorcharm liquid 5WR + 7WR with 2 parts 20 vol. developer* 3. Starting at the crown. Take a ½ inch horizontal sections and start applying 1 inch off the scalp through the ends and working towards the nape. Repeat in each quadrant, finishing in the front sections. Process 10 minutes. Do not rinse. *Mix 1:2 ratio (for example 1oz 5WR + 1oz 7WR= 2 oz. 20 vol. developer) Continue Application & Process 4. Apply all over the roots. Process for additional 30 minutes. Brad Mondo may not recommend this but I would. I lifted my hair to a horrible pumpkin orange color and panicked thinking I couldn’t tone it to the cool ashy color I wanted. I didn’t reach the exact shade I was aiming for but got close enough. A little purple shampoo and I’m happy! Read more
For reference, I ordered 3 boxes.2 boxes of 6A/462& 1 box of 6AA/542I combined them all, and used almost all 3 boxes on my head, with little to spare.The color is what I imagined/anticipated.I had faded purple hair with light beige blonde underneath. I used 1/2 bottle of 6R (red terra cotta) with 1 bottle 6RG (light copper) and mixed with 20 developer. I still had hair dye left over. It maybe is a little bit more red than I hoped but next time I will use less red in my mix. I already had a similar but very faded copper color in my hair before dying, but my roots were light brown. It seems to have dyed my hair very well. I am used to a gel dye and this is a liquid dye, so just be aware that it is a little bit messy. Read more
Funny story... I somehow missed that this is permanent hair color and thought I was buying toner. I have only successfully used toner in the past but it fades out and I’m back to feeling like my hair is brassy. Well this time AFTER I got done a friend pointed out the box said permanent and that’s when I realized it’s dye not toner! Now I’m double happy bc the color is as close a match to my natural as I could possibly hope and it won’t just wash out. Yay!I bought Dark Ash Blond (6a) and only applied up to my grow out line (not on roots). I did do a strand test BEFORE to make sure it wouldn’t pull green/gray or some other odd shade. My mom asked me to dye her hair lighter. She has naturally dark brown asian hair. She just wanted to have a lighter shade of brown. I picked 6A Dark Smokey Ash Blonde knowing that I need to go a few shades lighter than the color she wanted since her hair was so dark. This ended up being a nice ash/neutral medium brown. I wish I took a before and after but we were short on time. This took forever and I needed three bottles of this because she has so much hair. I mixed with 30 volume developer 1:2 ratio and applied on dry hair. I did roots last because she had greys and dark virgin hair, while the rest of her hair was previously dyed dark as root touch ups that grew out. Read more
I mixed half of this wella toner with other 2 wella toners as well. T-11 and T-18 i used half of each 3 since my hair had gold yellow bleached tone. To begin with my hair was a jet black level 1 and had to be bleached 4 times to reach a level 8. It was a very, very brassy yellow with hints of orange. Luckly, this toner as well as the other 2 helped tone my hair to an ash blonde. Read more
