Read more What to Prepare Wella colorcharm Permanent Liquid 5WR & 7WR , bowl & brush, gloves, towel, old t-shirt , protective barrier cream (like coconut oil) and a timer. Mixing and Applying All- over color: 1. Section the hair in 4 quadrants by creating a centered part from forehead to nape and from ear to ear. 2. Mix 1 part WELLA colorcharm liquid 5WR + 7WR with 2 parts 20 vol. developer* 3. Starting at the crown. Take a ½ inch horizontal sections and start applying 1 inch off the scalp through the ends and working towards the nape. Repeat in each quadrant, finishing in the front sections. Process 10 minutes. Do not rinse. *Mix 1:2 ratio (for example 1oz 5WR + 1oz 7WR= 2 oz. 20 vol. developer) Continue Application & Process 4. Apply all over the roots. Process for additional 30 minutes. Used this with a 20 developer which I feel no one ever explains what developer they used on what hair and that’s pretty important. I was looking for maybe an ash brown. Medium or light. The hair was virgin dark brown ethnic hispanic hair. It came out after 45 minutes a chocolate brown with slight red undertones. Realistically using lightening developer like 20 it will give copper tones to darker hair. Still looks nice but might not come out the way you want. I suggest using a blue shampoo like fenola to tone down orange. Read more
I got the 4G/257 dark golden brown to darken my grown out uneven bleached blond. Used full tube with 20 volume Schwarzkopf developer. Picture is the before and after - and after 4 washes (I shampoo daily) after the initial 48-72 hours of course. The color is great and blended with my natural really well! Read more
I love the color tone of wella more than any other brand that I’ve tried. My only issue is that even with color safe shampoo and conditioner I still see color wash down the drain every single shower and I colored my hair over 2 months ago. It does seem to cover grays for about 2-3 months before they start shining through (not new growth). It doesn’t seem to leave my hair feeling as dry as my previous brand. I’ll continue to use until I find something similar but longer lasting. Read more
I'm trying to get back to a natural dark brown hair and I decided to try this Wella hair dye. I've never used Wella products before but I had heard decent things. I got the 3NW, Dark Natural Warm Brown. I had a very light brown before with some root growth. The dye worked really well. I will say my roots are not as dark as I would have liked but I think that's because my roots were darker than the rest of the hair. I think this dye was a bit too light for what I wanted. The color is very pretty though and it flows well together. I do have 2 complaints and that was the smell and the burning. I've been dying my own hair for close to 20 years now and this hair dyes smell might be the worst I've ever experienced. It burned my eyes so bad right away. It also burned my head the most of any hair dye I've used, my head was on fire.I would like to add after reading some reviews people seemed to think this was suppose to come with developer. No where did I get that impression. It suggests to use their developer but it doesn't say it comes with it. I think alot of people who tried this thought it was like your typical box dye that comes with everything. Which its not. It's the tube of color, you have to buy the developer separate. I used a 20 vol developer I had got at Sally Beauty a while back.I don't think I would use this product again just because of smell/burning issue. Which could just be me. I have been ordering my hair color from this same seller from Amazon for over 2 yrs now. Last bottle I ordered had already oxidized in the bottle (as if it had been opened before it got to me) and it smelled HORRIBLE. I had to toss it down the drain and then i find out I don't have the option for a refund.So, that's it for me... I would be ok with a bad bottle but not option for refund or replacement?!?!?!You've lost me as a customer!!! This doesnt come with the cream developer (which I didnt know) I contacted the company to ask what cream developer I should order (they have a NO RETURN POLICY). I got a reply asking what the product was. I sent a picture showing all the info of the product I NEVER got a response . Since I cant return this is a total waste of money. Read more
