There is a big problem with the adjustable part of this adjustable razor. The blade tray does not sit properly, it is tilted causing a large variation in blade gap along the edge of the razor which would make a shave very bad and dangerous. I have tried the so called Blade tray resetting maneuver numerous times with not one time the tray seating in the proper position. Sadly ill be returning this razor because it just doesn't do what it is supposed to, be adjustable And be safe to shave with.I was able to return my item and was told that they are working to improve any issues with their products and that a short handle version would be coming to market soon. im looking forward to that becasue i prefer the short handels over long. I would buy Another Weishi razor in the future, and will look for the adjustable again. Read more

The product comes with a rubber band and bandana, both which appears useless in the context of shaving. Box also included a box of double edge razor from weishi. The quality of the double edge razor seems ok, but that is irrelevant to our discussion here.The main problem I cannot get over is that the razor sits unevenly in the bracket that is holding it. This is dangerous and unsafe. One way to overcome this is to set the adjustable setting to 1 (lowest) so that the shaving can still be relatively safe. I can understand why this gap exists, because this razor tries to achieve two engineering difficulty here. 1) having the razor open as butterfly and 2) being adjustable. Other brands like the parker variant or merkur futur is only adjustable and not butterfly open. Feather has one that is butterfly and adjustable, but with only two settings. This has 7 settings.1 thing I like though is that the matte black is well polish and makes it look high quality. I am still considering whether to return this given the uneven gap. Superb product! The safety edge razor I learned to shave with lasted over 45 years. It had traveled with me around the world and the day it broke I was shocked and saddened. Had I anticipated that day I would have bought two in my youth. I searched for a replacement and used disposables in the interim morning shaves; they were dark, very dark days indeed! Then in my searching I found Weishi, the description resembled what I had lost so I tossed the dice and decided to give Weishi a try. Other than the color and a slightly longer handle it was a perfect fit. After a quick lather using the shaving soap, mug and brush it was quick work to be clean shaven once more! I admit that I had doubts the lost days had dulled my hand, I feared the inevitable nicks from using a safety razor once more, but with the first pass of my new friend all was right. I rate this one an extremely strong buy! My only dilemma now is do I buy another for the day 45 plus years from now when this one breaks or wait to buy a replacement then, hmm! Oh, and I always start a new blade with a lower number and increase through the week, hit the top and it’s time for a new blade, 5 to 6 shaves per blade for me. I just bought what I thought was to be an identical second version of this razor. The original is my favorite DE razor: adjustable down to a very mild setting, capable of giving a close shave, but safe and comfortable if set properly.The latest version of this razor is very different. On its lowest setting the shave is harsh with a tendency to nip. I had to stop mid shave and transfer the blade to my old version of this Weishi adjustable.It appears that I won't be able to buy an identical back-up version of the "original" Weishi adjustable, and I'm returning this one. I recently made the transition to this product from Harry's disposables as I was concerned over the waste that kind of razor generates. I was nervous about cutting my face up with this style razor, but as the name implies, it's quite safe and easy to use!I chose this razor because of its style and price and I don't regret it. It's got a satisfying heft, the matte black finish looks handsome and feels nice to the touch. While I didn't notice an enormous difference between the numbered settings, all around, I felt like I was getting a really close and comfortable shave, moreso than I'd ever gotten with disposables.Before purchasing, the butterfly top made me nervous. However, once I got to see/feel how this mechanism works I felt a lot better. The blade feels very secure once the top is closed.The only disappointment I have had with this razor is after the first shave, the razor head got clogged with hair, and there's no easy way to remove it. I kept looking for a latch or some trick to loosen it: swirling it under water, under the faucet, etc. Ultimately I had to get in there with a small pick and manually remove the clumps of hair by hand.Other than that, this is a great razor that I look forward to using for many years to come! I have tried this one for a few weeks now. Regardless of setting I found that this product left very poor results after as many as (4) passes with a quality Proraso shave cream. Compared to my Canadian designed Rockwell this one is useless. You pay for what you get....really ! Read more
