I have had this Waterpik for a bit over 3 years and made it an important part of my dental hygiene. It does an excellent job of cleaning out the food from between my teeth and along the gum line. Recently we have become aware of the hazards of mold, and started paying paying attention to the Waterpik. The mold growth on the rubber section of the handle and along it's seams were hard to miss. I also found spots of mold growing inside the housing assembly. Attempts to clean the mold off the wand with a bleach wipe did not work.I was able to clean up the housing quite easily, and have ordered a replacement (aftermarket) wand assembly. The aftermarket wand doesn't have the rubberized section that resists cleaning and is more susceptible to mold. I went ahead and split the original handle assembly and found an unattractive amount of mold inside in addition to what I had found on the outside.I have discovered that this is a somewhat common issue, and have also found some recommended steps that should help prevent the mold from returning. The primary reason for the low rating is not because the mold occurred, but because the manual that came with the Waterpik didn’t include anything about how to prevent mold. There are some basic steps that will help: - Dry off the wand before putting it in the holder bracket - Empty out any residual water from the reservoir after using - Let the pump run dry with the holder at a lower level than the Waterpik - Run a vinegar solution through the Waterpik occasionally Read more
So... this Waterpik is amazing. By the way this is my first review ever on Amazon after ordering numerous of things. So I had 4mm and 5mm periodontal pockets from not flossing and also experienced some bone loss, I also had to get a very uncomfortable deep gum pocket cleaning. I literally hated flossing and would find myself avoiding to floss even though I needed it very much. My gums were red, swollen, and inflamed because I was in the early stages of periodontal disease. I started using the Waterpik flosser, and instantly like this way of flossing much better! After using it consecutively each night for only 5 days my gums were noticeably better and felt much better. After 2 weeks of using the Waterpik flossing, coconut oil pulling, and mouthwash treatment, my gums have done a complete 180 and my mouth and gums are starting to heal properly! Also this flosser can be somewhat loud, but definitely gets the job done ( but the dentist still recommends string flossing). Brought this with my own money and this is an honest testimonial/review. I will be back with an update on what mm my gum pockets will be! Read more

Fifty-odd years ago when I was a kid, my parents bought WaterPiks for me and my two brothers. Over the years mine got lost during moves for school and work and, frankly, I'd forgotten about it. A couple years ago, I started having problems with sore/bleeding gums and--no matter how often I brushed--my mouth always felt like the bottom of a birdcage. Then, I remembered my childhood WaterPik. Just in time for one of Amazon's sales!I ordered the Aquarius model, and have used it twice-daily for a week. Guess what? No more bleeding gums! And after every use, my mouth feels like it was cleaned by a dental hygienist. Love, love, love this thing, and it's super easy to use! After reading numerous reviews here, I have to say that it makes a low, vibrating noise when in use but it's not loud (I have hyper-sensitive hearing and can't bear loud noises). If your unit gets moldy, it's because you didn't take 30 seconds to empty the tank and drain the line after each use. Try adding a couple ounces of mouthwash into the water tank when you use it and--just like you can your coffee maker--once in a while run some white vinegar thru the tank followed by two tanks of clear water. It's not rocket science. Those who reported it "leaking" from the bottom of the cleaning tip probably just didn't have it seated correctly. It has to snap into place on the wand, but if you aren't paying attention and press the "release" button on the wand instead of the "on" button to start the water flowing then, yeah, it'll leak from the bottom. Just snap it back into place and give your Therapy Llama a break.Water going everywhere? Don't turn it on until the cleaning tip is in your mouth, and then keep your mouth closed around it like you're supposed to.Seriously folks, I used one of these when I was seven years old and didn't have any of these problems.Buy one. You'll love it. I'll never be without a WaterPik again! Read more
I may have gotten a defective one but it kept spurting black water out. I put it together properly (not rocket science), put in clean water and ran it s instructed before putting it in my mouth. As I was about to turn off the test drive and use it , it squirted out black water! It kept doing that every few seconds throughout the cycle. I tried to run water through it a few times but nothing worked.Update - after reading many reviews I think the unit was filled with MOLD! I cannot believe they sold me a unit like this. It obviously was not new. Disgusting and dangerous Read more
I love to Waterpik! Purchased in November 2017, after an older Waterpik wore out after about 9 years of almost daily use. Unfortunately, the motor on this one stopped working a few weeks ago for some reason and I was very reluctant/hesitant to bother with a warranty claim, as it always seems like a hassle. So I started shopping other brands. I also decided to take a chance and reach out to Waterpik to see what their warranty experience was like. To my pleasant surprise, Waterpik was gracious, and after answering a few simple questions, they agreed to send a replacement unit! Nice!! Made my day!! Thank you, Waterpik!! Read more
This waterpik is ready to set up and use. It comes with several different heads/piks which is nice because several people can use it - just remember which colour is yours and switch it out. It's very loud when it's on, so it's not something you can use when everyone else is sleeping. My hygienist recommends using it first, then flossing, then brushing. It feels nice to use but in terms of my teeth I didn't notice a big difference but I already had really good oral health. It takes up a bit of counter space, but if you can get it on sale, I'd say it's worth it. Read more
The product works well, and the various attachments assist in ensuring you are able to reach all of the places that require cleaning. I have certainly noticed an improvement in the cleanliness of my mouth, and is more effective at the gum line to remove things like corn kernels or seeds. One complaint, is it is very noisy. I have not previously owned a water flosser, so it may not be any louder than other models, but I was quite surprised. The sound can be a problem in the morning, as even though my on-suite is about 10 feet away it wakes up my spouse if I use it in the morning. When it is running, it is the same level of sound as running the bathroom fan. Fortunately, you only need to run it for 2-3 minutes, but it is still something to consider. Read more
Read more
Read more
I love this water flosser, it gets the job done perfectly. It comes with multiple heads for different functions, my favourite is the “pik pocket”; which gets in between the teeth and into gum pockets. Way better than regular string floss or floss picks, and works better than the cheap water irrigators I tried in the past. I gave it 4 stars because of how loud it is and it’s quite pricey for what it is. I usually floss at night, just before bed and it’s loud enough to wake my flat mate up. However it’s still a great product and I enjoy using it. Read more
