What a difference a blade makes. My Wahl clipper is at least twenty years old, (probably thirty), and I'd never bothered to change the blades -- just cleaned them periodically. It was no longer cutting particularly close. The new blade makes it a joy.Note: The instructions include setting the smaller blade 1/32- to 1/16-inch back from the large one. I found that I'd sometimes get a nasty razor burn at only 1/32; at 1/16 it is comfortable and still very close. Read more

They are original parts so they work as they should---as long as they are attached properly. Pay close attention to removal of old parts so that new parts are situated properly. When old parts are removed it will expose accumulated cut hair and oil that should be thoroughly cleaned out. Directions are given for properly setting the gap between the front edges of the parts. The larger outer part extends out slightly beyond the smaller inner part. Directions tell the measured distance. The directions also describe how the parts are aligned on the side edges. Now it's time to attach the screws and tighten them. It took me several attempts because the parts tended to move out of alignment. That was probably just me. You will do fine. Fit perfectly, now my clippers cut like new again. I can either experiment with sharpening my original blades, or send them out for sharpening, before these get dull. My unmarried life partner cuts my hair very couple of weeks, and our Wahl clippers are the best we've ever had.
