Well this monitor almost burned my house down... I noticed a couple weeks ago that it was making a clicking noise off and on and having trouble connecting to the other receiver (which is less than 20 feet away im the next room). I didn’t think much about it because it was a cheap monitor anyway. We started to have to jiggle the wall adapter a bit where it inserts to the hand held receiver to get it to work. Again, thought it wasn’t a big deal, cheap monitor right?! Wrong. I came home from work today and immediately opened the door and smelled something burning. After searching the house I found that the monitor must have shorted something in my outlet and was burning through the wall (see picture). Thank goodness I came home when I did!!! (Side note there were no batteries in the plugged in portion of the monitor at the time and nothing else was plugged into that outlet.) Read more

I use this in order to listen in on my infant grandson when he's visiting. Although I never thought about using a baby monitor as a caregiver tool, I did after using it for the baby. I now use it to listen in on my aged mother-in-law with Alzheimer's. It's very helpful while she is showering and such. I listen in to make sure she hasn't fallen or anything. This gives her the privacy she wishes for and me the knowledge that she isn't in danger. Read more

I ordered this as a replacement after my cheap but reliable monitor from Walmart broke after several years of constant use. I regret the purchase of this monitor and plan to find another cheap monitor from Walmart. This monitor cuts in and out for several seconds up to about 20 seconds at a time when there is constant sound such as music in my baby’s room. Since there is no static or white noise, I’m not sure if/when it is working when my baby’s room doesn’t have background sound. I’m not sure if this is normal, but based on other reviews, it must be common. I wish I would have read more reviews rather than looking at the average review. DON’t BUY THIS MONITOR. Read more

I had earlier given 5 stars, and written a great review for this product, however I am forced to change it now. After 3 months of working fine, the unit stoped working one fine day. Just stopped. The seller refused to return or replace the product as usual, while the manufacturer in US (V Tech) said the product is not meant for India. I was shocked, as to how Amazon India is allowing to sell this product in India if the manufacturer says they won't do anything about it. El paquete llegó muy rápido, como puede verse en las fotos que adjunto, venía perfectamente sellado y protegido con la bolsa plástica, dentro del paquete venían el dispositivo emisor y receptor, el receptor cuenta con ranura para usar 2 pilas AA, el emisor no, ese tiene que estar conectado a corriente directa, el receptor también funciona con corriente directa para ahorro de baterías. El sonido es muy bueno, es bastante sensible a cualquier ruido que pueda hacer el bebe, se escucha a distancias considerables (7 metros probados por mi), con muros de por medio. Muy buen monitor. No hemos tenido ningún problema con él. El sonido es muy bueno y el alcance también. Vivimos en una casa de 3 pisos y llega desde el primero al tercero o viceversa inclusive cuando tenemos muchas paredes de por medio. Llevamos 3 meses con él y hasta el día de hoy no hemos tenido ningún problema.El único detalle que le vimos es que al dejarle las pilas al monitor para papás, se gastan aunque esté apagado así que optamos por quitárselas si no lo estamos usando. Me gustó mucho el diseño discreto y fácil de combinar, los monitores son pequeños caben en la mano, son lijeros y fáciles de desempolvar y limpiar. Son sensibles al ruido del bebé, personas y mascotas y al mismo tiempo filtra casi todo el ruido ambiente (exepto golpes como de puertas o cosas que se caen y algunas notas musicales). Los cables de conección a la corriente eléctrica son sufientemente largos. Te avisa cuando el monitor del bebe se apaga o se queda sin electricidad. Hay que evitar colocar el monitor de los padres demasiado cerca de algún celular, pues hace interferencia en llamadas entrantes. Lo que no me gusta es que el monitor de los padres consume mucha pila, cuando no está conectado a la corriente eléctrica, y el manual te indica que se preferencia se utilicen baterías desechables, aunque la mayoría del tiempo lo suelo tener conectado pues el sonido es los suficientemente fuerte y claro.
