I thought it was just me until I read the manual. This flashlight is a disappointing waste of money.Good PointsTeaches ColoursTeaches AnimalsTeaches Animal SoundsTeaches Animal MovementsNot too noisyLight is great for children, I like that it doesnt stay on to waste batteries and you can press it again to turn it back on.Off Mode, Light Mode & Learning ModeSpinner nice & easy to turn for a childCan be used as a flashlightBad PointsDoes not teach letters (Yet the description has this) You get the alphabet only up to G & a melody.Does not teach numbersDoes not have 70 songs (Yet the description has this) I attached the manual for you to see song list.No volume controlLight does not stay on unless its in light mode & you hold the turtle.Responses have to be quick or the flashlight does something else.Pretty much limited in terms of learning, not much for your child to learn. Gets repetitive fast cause there's not much to do with it. Read more
This is something my three year old son REALLY wanted (hes fascinated with flashlights) and he loves it. Its not super bright, which is good when your kid isnt either and you find them turning it on directly over their eyes (sigh). Its cute, its popular especially as it gets dark (which is like 5pm this time of year), and my son likes taking it to the bathroom at night because while we have an automatic sensing nightlight in the bathroom, the way to the bathroom is marked with perilous obstructions and obstacles, like baby dolls, random Little People, and Mt. Daddys Clothes (the annoying pile of too-dirty-for-the-drawers, too-clean-for-the-hamper clothes... sigh again). All in all, good toy, nice battery life, and functional too (yes ive found myself using it in a pinch too lol) Read more
This is a good toy, but in my opinion it misses the mark, Maybe my expectations were higher than they should be. It has very limited functions. It teaches colors and animals and that's pretty much it... the lights, no matter which color, shuts off very quickly. I would assume that this is for battery life but still my kids have to constantly switch it around for the lights to be on. The push button only lights up in the white light but the light is not strong enough to work as an actual flash light. That being said I have a 11 month and a recently turned 3 year old. The 11 month old loves it, the 3 year old ignores it. Couldn't give it 5 stars because it isn't worthy of it but my 11 month old loves it too much to call it a 3 star... 4 stars it is...If my review helped you in any way, please let me know by clicking the "helpful" button below. Pleasantly surprised how well my two year old recieved it. He was immediately drawn to the brightness of colors. I got it for him to have a happy flash light, with an added bonus of him enjoying it in his car seat at night. In the dark, on the road he has some distraction other than the Orange street lights. On the down side, it is insanely loud with out a volume control. I had to place a piece of tape over the bottom speaker to keep it from making my boy deaf. Hence the 4 stars.------------Update!!After using this product for a few weeks, I realized it isn't a functional flashlight, it's just a toy. It doesn't stay lit for any length of time. The volume isn't adjustable and it's very very loud. My two year old started banging it and it died about a week after. Read more
I'm really happy with this flashlight. Unlike a lot of toddler toys, this one isn't too loud. It has different settings and teaches my daughter about the different types of animals and the sounds that they make. You can rotate the front piece of the flashlight to make it change colors. There is also a setting that turns off the sounds but you can still press the cute little turtle button to use it as an actual flashlight. The lightisn't bright enough to light up a room, but it works well enough to light a little area in the dark. Read more
Its adorable, is it functional as an actual flashlight to help guide you at night? No. But my kids 1 so not a big deal get a flashlight at the dollar store and move on. Is it an awesome and fun toy? Heck yes my kids 1 and 3 love it and we can see the different color lights very well and it was not intend to project images so for reviews saying it doesnt project images well...its not made to. Lots of fun for our younger children. They have a blast when its dark, playing with the flashlight and listening to the different songs. There are also other colors then just the yellow-ish color that you see on this display, that was another bonus for the little ones. The different music that plays keeps them singing along. Such a good price, we bought 2! Read more
Our 11 month granddaughter old loves real flashlights, so I thought I would get her one of her own. Alas, it looks and acts too much like a toy to her I guess. The light goes off in 60 seconds and she thinks it should stay on until you turn it off. After all, isn't that what the real flashlight does? There are too many buttons, wheels to turn, lights, and music, and ABCs that she has on all her other "sound and light" toys. She would be much happier with a regular flashlight, but I just worry about access to batteries, bulbs, etc. If your baby isn't obsessed with real flashlights, this might be okay. Read more
Great gift for my grandsons who love playing with dollar store flashlights. But I did get the wrong impression that the animals on the outside ring around the light would be projected to the wall when selected. I am not sure why I had this impression, but just want to other parents to manage their expectations. Otherwise it is a wonderful, sturdy toy that is fun to play with. Read more
the actual flashlight itself is very cute, the lights are bright and the colors are cute but the voice when you put the switch to the book level sounds awful. its super high pitched and very fast you cant understand what its saying (its supposed to say facts about the different animals) it sounds like mickey mouse on drugs :( not happy, i paid 16$ for it and you cant understand what the voice is saying. I tried changing the batteries several times hoping it would help but it didn't make a difference. Mine was defective. two stars because it can still be used as a flashlight Read more
Always a hit when we go camping. I just wish there was a way to turn the sound off completely because the kids wake up early in the morning and then know how to turn the sound on. It would be great if there was a spot hidden in the battery compartment to make it into just a regular flashlight that was easier for little ones to hold. Read more
It’s a nice flashlight but your child has to keep pushing the button down for the light to work. My daughter is only 2.5 and she can’t do it for very long and it’s frustrating for her. Tried it for 10 minutes while reading her bed time story and I am returning this thing. Read more
My 17 month old daughter loves this toy. She loves the lights and the sounds. She enjoys switching through the colors and how they are associated with the animals on the light. It has lasted through a bit of rough play over the last few weeks, and she hasn't lost interest in it (which is fantastic!). I'm impressed with the quality and how it has stood up to use. If I could change one thing, I would increase the number and length of songs. Read more
