UPDATE - 4 MONTHS LATER: Took this 2x daily (w/ breakfast & dinner). After 4 months, my total cholesterol dropped 5 points (which was always less then 190) but my LDL went down 6 points (below acceptable levels) & my LDL up slightly by 2 points (coming close to a level that warrants a red flag). All this with a favorable change in diet and exercise. One can argue if I didn't take this supplement, the numbers could be worse. But factoring the significant amount of exercise and change in diet (and 8 lbs of weight loss), I don't think this product has been beneficial to me. I have a few tablets left that I'll take and then I'm done. As I don't want to take a statin (yet), I will look for a bona-fide CoQ10 supplement. Dropped rating to TWO STARS.REVIEW ADDRESSING ONLY TASTE: Since I've only started taking this four days ago (along w/ eating more plant based foods, trying to get my LDL down by 15 points w/o having to take a statin), I can't attest to its effectiveness. But as for taste, it is bland. Nothing sweet here. Barely taste any vanilla. If chalk had a taste, this would be it (not a bad thing). I use this product instead of prescription medications. It seems to work as well if not better. I've had great numbers when using this product. When I used prescription products from my doctor, one in particular changed the color of my eyes from deep blue to light blue. That cannot be good. When I used another prescription product I had severe pain in my muscles With this I haven't noticed any side effects. For me this is a great product. I recommend giving it a try for a couple of weeks (or however long your doctor recommends) then get your cholesterol tested to see if it works for you. Read more

As someone who deals with borderline high cholesterol, I LOVE this product. We try to eat well balanced home cooked meals low in fat and cholesterol, but this girl is a red meat lover and I love being able to indulge now and then and not feel guilty for that indulgence. I honestly can't say whether or not they work or not, but my levels have gone down slightly and they aren't going up so I am going to keep taking them. Was trying to reduce cholesterol through diet only at encouragement of Dr., to avoid lifelong cholesterol drugs. Am allergic to garlic, a natural cholesterol reducer, so researched plant phytosterols and also red-yeast rice extract w/ Co-Q 10. Without any other dietary changes, dropped LDL from 250 to 115 mg/dL (on blood tests taken every 3 months - over 9 months total), using this with Red-Yeast Rice extract and Co-Q 10. Read more

The flavor is palatable, not a bad taste at all. A little chalky, but doable no problem. I cannot tell its affects yet for lowering cholesterol as I only started a few days ago. Since it's plant-based, it should do the job! Read more

This works great. Lowered our cholesterol quite a bit. Taste is fine and not that bad at all. Actually kind of tasty. They work best just before a meal. I take mine 15 min before. They work for us. Read more
