I absolutely love this scrub! It has such a pleasant smell to it that sometimes I think it's candy. I love the feeling of all the 'sugar crystals' scrubbing against my lip. It makes it feel like it's really cleaning your lips and getting rid of dead cells. At first I didn't understand why you would wipe your lips after scrubbing (as directed), but I guess it's to remove the dead cells and the crystals off your lips. But surprisingly my lips still stayed soft.I have a hard time finding any type of lip treatment (like chapstick or balm) because they always dry my lips leaving it flaky and 'peely', so my go to has always been aquaphor which is great stuff, but doesn't last me the whole day and when my lips dry they get chapped really bad. And then when I would reapply the aquaphor I have to peel the pieces that are chapped before it can actually make my lips feel better and soft. But not with this lip scrub!I was surprised that even after a few days that even tho I felt my lips might be dry, when I would check on them they were still soft to the touch and surprisingly no chapped lips! Which was awesome. I use this product about 2-3 times a day, and my lips feel awesome! I can even notice it turning my lips into a more natural pinkish color (I have dark pigmentation outlining my lips- and it appears to be lightening now).I would recommend tho if you purchase this scrub to also get the Hanalei Lip Treatment with it. They really go hand in hand and are recommended products for one another. You use the lip treatment after the scrub and it really just takes it up a level. I am in my twenties and suffered greatly from chapped lips since I can remember back in Pre-K. My lips would be chapped even during the summer months. I was constantly picking at my lips and making them bleed. Once I started using this scrub I noticed an immediate difference after just the first use. I continued to use it everyday for about 4 days. Now I can get away with only using it 2-3 times a week. It leaves my lips feeling silky smooth which is something I’ve never experienced before. I’ve been doing some research lately for lip scrubs and the reviews alone are what pulled me into this particular brand. Only con that I’d say really is that the granulated sugar dissolves almost instantly once it touches your lips which kind of takes away from the purpose of exfoliating. Otherwise it smells amazing and if you end up getting some in your mouth and taste it, it tastes super sweet! It really does leave your lips buttery soft but only lasts for a very short while. I feel like I’d need to use this 2-3x a day to get the full affects. The container is super teeny so you don’t get much product for the price. Unsure yet whether or not I’d order this again. I have tried other lip scrubs in the past and I am in love with this one. A lot of other lip scrubs are a lot more dry and have larger chunks of sugar to exfoliate with; however, this sugar scrub has a finer grain of sugar and has a more oily consistency. I prefer this because afterwards my lips not only feel smooth and soft, but they also feel moisturized. An added bonus is the fantastic smell that lingers on the lips for a short period after. I have a lip picking problem which has left my lips constantly dry and cracked. I've tried to stop many times but couldn't due to the annoying feeling of cracked lips. Usually I procrastinate on writing reviews but this scrub just blew my mind so here we are, half an hour after I got it. My lips spend 95% of their time chapped regardless of how much water I drink, humidity, season, chapstick/lip balm, etc and occasionally I'll query amazon search for lip exfoliants hoping to stumble upon a solution and this scrub low key just blew my mind at how good my lips feel after using it.It has a very slight citrus scent, reminiscent of raspberry tea and citronella. The grains in the scrub are prominent and the scrub spreads easily. Instructions tell you to massage into your lips to exfoliate then wipe away with a tissue. Clean up is a breeze!The reason I reviewed this so quickly is the fact that after years of random purchases of product that people swear by this is the first one that felt different. Usually I feel like balms and scrubs mask the problem and just make chapped lips slippery enough to overlook. I am not one to write product reviews but this has been great. I was debating between 4 and 5 stars due to the price of the item. Decided on 5 stars because this products actually works and I have noticed a difference since using it. My lips get dry and I tend to peel my lips, but with this I have not been having this issue. At first I thought the texture was not rough enough but I added a bit more onto my lips and got the right consistency for me. A little does still go a long way and it smells great. Read more
