I read some of the reviews, especially those ones that gave two or three stars to this product, but I decided to try it, so I ordered the 100 ml bottle. We all don't the same hairs and I'm sure this may not work in some hairs. But I'm very pleased with it so far. The scent is very mild and pleasant to the nose, doesn't have much oily residues and is just perfect for my scalp. I was concerned it will be too oily and sticky considering it's a Vaseline product, not this product. I tried different other products that said hair tonic and was disappointed either because of their terrible smells or are just sticky. So I gave 5 stars to this because it works perfectly for me. If any one wants to try this and not sure, I recommend buy the small size first and if you are satisfied, buy bigger size. Meanwhile I am gonna stay with this product as long as it is available. The bottle delivered did not look like this. The "Same Original Formula" photo here says it is just Hair Tonic, which implies to me it is the old, original mixture. Instead it is a bottle of the Hair Tonic "and Scalp Conditioner" exactly like the bigger bottles sold at Amazon except this is a smaller size. I ordered a bigger one too and they are identical except for the bottle size. I was expecting to do a "taste test" to see if the old old version is better than the newer "and Scalp Conditioner" version. Oh well. My friend will eventually use up both of them so I'm not going to send it back despite it not actually being the bottle displayed. It is good stuff that is hard to find so I'm going to rate it a 3 anyways but for a smidge more money you can get twice as much. This is a good travel size. Read more

I ordered this because I remembered the fragrance from decades ago, when I was a teen. They changed the fragrance but it's still mostly mineral oil, so it performs the same way. But without the evocative fragrance, It's just grease in my hair. Read more

Love this product. I use it on my scalp and hair. I have 4C African hair. It helps make my hair manageable. It is a light oil and does not weigh my hair down. I have a very dry skin and so I need oils that will stay on my scalp for a while. Olive oil and coconut oil only stay on my scalp for 2 days which is too short and therefore causing my hair and scalp to be too dry. Read more

I have used vaseline petroleum since I was a little girl so now that I am older I was surprised to discover vaseline hair tonic which is great at detangerling my clean damp hair and smoothing out the ends of my hair a very good product that is also good for conditioning the scalp as well as hair.
