My husband loves this razor, it's the second one he's purchased, but we haven't been able to find it in our usual stores so we found it on amazon at a great price ($12)! The reason for buying a new one (the handle blade release mechanism got stuck after a couple years of use) would have been covered by their "limited lifetime warranty" under normal wear and tear. I liked how the blade last longer. I also liked it gets real close to your skin and the real hard parts. The blade is very easy to change out. The size is very small and super easy to clean.I didn't like how it cant get close to my nose. You HAVE TO USE aftershave after each shave (Otherwise your skin is on fire.). Before ordering this I had never used a razor blade like this and was sick of paying obscene amounts of money for replacement blades for my supposedly better 5 blade monstrosities. This is better in every way once you get the technique down.Pros:1. Its WAY cheaper.For the cost of one set of cartridges for my big name brand razor, I can get several years worth of blades for this one. Remembering to get razors at the store is a thing of the past.2. Its faster and easy to clean.Since its double edge, you can shave twice as much area before clearing the blades. Saves on water too! Cleaning is super simple and will prevent gumming up of the retention mechanism. Open it up, wash out all the hairs, blow dry it with a couple of puffs of air and put in a dry place. This should last forever if you do this.3. Better for travel.Small enough to fit my entire shave kit in the smallest pocket in my backpack.4. Closer shaveI can get closer with this blade with less risk of cuts than my old razor. Since the blades are so cheap, I don't feel obligated to keep using them well past the point when they should be replaced.Cons:1. You will probably nick yourself the first time you use this. I nicked myself a couple of times when I first started out with it. Nothing a little TP couldn't fix. After using this several times and perfecting my technique, this no longer happens. I haven't nicked myself in months. Just be careful around the chin and jaw line.2. As a few others have mentioned and because this gets so close, you will absolutely want to use aftershave. I did not use aftershave with my previous razors but your skin will be on fire if you don't when you use this. The upside is the shave does last a day longer for me. YMMV with this.3. You will need to use an upstroke or 2 around the nose. Because of its shape, its difficult to shave the spot right below your nose using downstrokes. So apparently one cannot fly with a razor that uses a "loose blade" such as this one, so I lost my first one to the TSA. After getting flagged by security, my only two options were to go out of security and throw away the blade that was in it or surrender the entire razor on the spot. Throwing away just the blade on the "secure" side of security was, for some reason, not an option. Ironically, they did not confiscate the entire pack of blades that I also unknowingly had with me. ANYWAY, this razor is just fine for regular shaving, but it is great at edging around my beard - a nice alternative to a straight razor. There are two different handle lengths for this razor, and I have no issues with the shorter one. I typically hold the handle with my finger tips for better control though, so if you want to grip it like a baseball bat, I suggest getting the longer one. I also recommend opening butterfly closure around the razor after each use to rinse it well and then leave it open between uses to let it dry out. Doing this will prevent rust and shaving-cream buildup and will extend the life of both the individual blades and the razor itself. Overall, I think this is a great product, so, happy shaving! Have had for just a short time now, but I'd say its a good entry-level razor. The razor has a good weight to it which helps in feeling the amount of pressure (or lack of pressure) needed on each pass of the blade. I docked a star because of the included blades. Tried the included blades but I'd advise definitely getting a variety/sampler pack of blades to find which brand will work best for you. Read more

I purchased this item because I know this brand lasts. And for that price, why the heck not? It is a small handle, however it has a good weight to it to make shaving feel nice. I didn't use the blades as I hear they're not very good, so I bought a variety pack to see which razors I like better. To open the top, simply twist the bottom and then twist it to close. Definitely worth the money since I know some brands are pretty pricey. Read more

I am pleasantly surprised with this razor. In efforts to go zero waste I stumbled upon the idea of a safety razor and am glad I did. I do feel as if it's not as close of a shave as regular Venus razors but honestly I'm not that worried about it. I do hesistate with shaving my armpits but I'm sure it'll be fine and safe to do so. I like that I can change out the razor with my bf so we can share the handle but have our own jndividual blades. Read more
