Putting aside the emphasis on the "Man" aspect that they hype on the amazon page and product packaging, this is a pretty distinct product.I didn't expect the shampoo to be clear, but I have found that it goes on light, it works up a good lather, and it rinses right out without any residue. It also has a hint of a scent, but it's not distinctive and it's not overpowering by any means. It's pleasant, even for a guy like me who is not a fan of strong scents.It doesn't leave my hair feeling particularly smooth and bouncy, but after drying off post-shower, my hair is manageable and easy-enough to style.The bottle mentions that it's also good for beards and skin, so since I have a decent-sized beard, I've been using it on my facial hair as well. It's not the best beard shampoo I've ever used, but it's by no means the worst. After using this in the shower, my beard actually feels soft and bouncy, so this might be a well-kept secret among bearded types. I'd suggest it for other bearded guys as well.There are no real downsides as far as performance or function, but I can't quite justify to myself the price tag that seems about twice as much as other speciality shampoos in this class. Because it is generally recommended to use shampoo and conditioners in a joint pair with the same brand, I’d like to say how it went using the Truss Man shampoo and conditioner combo: as someone with short, thin hair, I was delighted that using these together left my head feeling clean and smelling fresh. As for my hair, it was thoroughly conditioned, bouncy, soft, and not weighed down whatsoever, which helped give it a little more volume, some thing I can use with thinning hair.As for the conditioner on its own, it doesn’t have a particularly strong fragrance. I would argue it’s barely noticeable, so you’re counting on the shampoo to leave any pleasant aroma behind. The magic is and how well it conditions, leaving your hair strong and healthy, but not weighed down or greasy, so it’s easy to style, and looks its best. Really only one word for this shampoo: awesome. I'm not sure how the formula was put together, but from my perspective, they hit a home run with it.It is clear and has a very, very slight scent, and that slight scent smells pleasant and clean. And, your hair feels really clean after using it, and by that I mean with no feeling of any residue left once you wash it out. Your hair is easy to comb out as well, as though it has conditioner in it to some degree, but presumably it doesn't.I ordered it because I have had some issues, to the point to where my dermatologist had me on a prescription shampoo twice per week. From first impressions, this brand will go even farther in helping that condition.Not sure why they say it is for men. I encouraged my wife to try it and she likes it as well.Highly recommended! Wasn’t sure what to expect from this shampoo, figured it was like any other. It’s not. First of all it’s organic ingredients, no dyes or perfumes, so it comes out of the bottle clear. It creates a very thick lather, by thick I mean it almost feels like a watery glue as you lather up. What I was NOT expecting was the burning as it sat on my scalp. Thought something was wrong and quickly rinsed it out. Turns out it contains menthol which is where the burn comes from. Learned real quick that you don’t need much, a small drop is all you need. I don’t know that it makes hair thicker or encourages growth as it says, but if you like expensive shampoos then you’ll probably like this. For me I don’t need the extra expense. As I said in my title the smell isn’t overly pleasant, it’s made from charcoal and menthol, so that’s where the smell comes from. It’s not horrible, but it’s......different. Read more
I'm very pleased with how well this has worked to address scalp itch. The itch comes from skin irritation, rather than dandruff, and dandruff shampoos don't address the itching problem (and, in some cases, makes it worse). This has been one of the more effective anti-itch shampoos I've come across.It's a medium thick gel that dispenses easily, lathers well, and rinses clean. It cleans very well, and has a pleasant light scent. It comes nicely packaged with ample padding added by the manufacturer to make sure it stays in good shape in transit.The only con is the cost -- it's quite pricey for a 10 oz bottle of shampoo. Not much is needed per use which helps decrease the per-use cost, but it still is up there, even for a "premium" shampoo. The Truss Man Nature Shampoo has a light, fresh, menthol aroma and lathers up thickly in my hair and on the rest of my body. Yes, it is an effective body wash too -- very creamy. It leaves my thinning (on top) hair fluffy and manageable. It's good but not a great shampoo and I appreciate the use of quality ingredients.I sometimes have scalp issues. With regular use, it didn't worsen them but it doesn't seem to help them over much. I have less expensive shampoos that take care of itch, flaking, and other problems I sometimes experience in as little as two sessions. As nice as it is, I don't see myself investing in it again. If you don't mind the price, only have mild scalp problems, and like the all-in-one bottle convenience, then this might be for you.Made in Brazil~ Kort Read more
