We just got back from a two week vacation to Cancun. We spent a lot of time in the ocean and the pool and no one got burned. Caveat, when using these kinds of sunscreens you need to first, moisturize your skin. These thick, zinc sunscreens will not go on well if you don't. I take along my own mix of oil in a spray bottle and spray first and then apply the sunscreen. Best way to apply is to squeeze a dollop of the stuff in your hands, rub your hands together and then apply to your body. We took along 5 tubes of True Kids and came back with unused bottles (4 people, plus used some on our friend's kids). We applied at least 3 times a day between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. We waited at least 15 minutes before we entered the water. This stuff works great and no one got burned. With any sunscreen you have to be diligent with reapplication if you are in the water and surf a lot. We also took shade breaks. Thing is, your skin can only handle just so much sun, so if you use common sense for your skin type, this sunscreen will do its job. It can't protect someone who over exposes their skin, doesn't reapply frequently enough, and/or jumps right into the water after application. Read more

In a search for a natural "better for you" sunscreen (lots of research and EWG approval) I decided to buy 3 products for comparison:Babo Botanicals 30 SPF Clear Zinc Sunscreen; TruKid SPORT Unscented/Water Resistant Sunny Days SPF30+ Lotion and Green Screen Sunscreen from Kabana.1.Babo is been superb for my face, absorbs well, no stickiness or white film, not to mention the wonderful smell.2.Trukid is been great for my body, also absorbing well (it kind of disappears on your skin). A bit sticky, but not so much to dislike it. No fragrance w/ a nice consistency to spread well all over.3.Green Screen was the most unpleasant one for me. It was way too thick, hard to apply on and left an undesirable white cast on my skin. All of them are high quality organic (top-rated, no chemicals, broad spectrum, non-nano, not-micronized Zinc Oxide) sunscreens but only the first two worked for me. This sunscreen washed off on contact with salt water. I stuck with my conventional sunscreen away from the water, so I'm not sure how it does in dry conditions.. I ended up getting a sunburn after a very brief dip into a strong current because I didn't expect it to be washed off so easily. Read more

I bought this sunscreen to avoid certain chemicals since I’m pregnant. It goes on a little thick and white like others have mentioned in reviews, but since I use it as a primer under my makeup that hasn’t been a problem. It does not leave an oily residue on the skin, which I love. But (to me) it does have a strange smell after it’s been on for a while — could just be me as I have very sensitive sense of smell with my pregnancy.Overall a great product — arrived on time and was packaged nicely. 😊 Read more

I like this sunscreen. But I don't understand the reviews that say this goes on smoothly, or isn't white. It's exactly like every other natural, zinc based sunscreen. White, thick and sticky. It doesn't rub in, and it will definitely appear a little white/purple on the skin. But it's not supposed to "rub in" like silky smooth sun screen. Thats the difference between chemical and physical sunscreen (Google it.) If you're looking for a natural sun screen, this one does the trick. It might be a TINY bit less thick than other brands I've tried, but really they're all the same. It works on my daughter; she hasn't been burned yet. We reapply once or twice if she's in the sun or water all day, and so far, so good. Read more

I bought this specifically for a family camping trip at a place that has a pool. This is the only sun block/protection I brought along. My entire family and I used it, applying it and re applying it as directed. At the end of the day we were all sun burned, badly. So disappointed and so upsetting seeing my entire family sun burned so badly. Terrible product for us. it did not work at all. Read more

The ingredients of this is exactly what I has looking for. Nothing harmful and no chemicals. Safe for beaches and wildlife. My kids are extremely fair, white blonde hair and blue eyes. We went to Florida for 1.5 weeks and spent everyday in the sun swimming and going to amusement parks and they never got even a tiny bit pink. My son developed a little tan, but my daughter is just as white as ever. It stays on very well in the water. I absolutely love this sunscreen and reccomend it to everyone. Read more

I love that this is unscented. I hate the smell of sunblock and I hate when my kids smell like it. I put this on my daughter daily since she spends a lot of time outside. This doesn't leave the white cast as much as other brands for example ThinkBaby(which is still a great sunblock). A little rubbing and it's hardly noticable. My daughter is pretty fair though so maybe that has something to do with it. Read more
