Read more Read more What is elimination communication and why does this baby potty matter? Elimination Communication is a gentle, non-coercive way to respond to a baby’s natural hygiene needs, from as early as birth. Like all mammals, human babies instinctually resist soiling themselves, their sleep space, and their caregivers, and they clearly communicate about it from birth. With EC, we learn baby's signals and natural rhythms and assist them with this process until they naturally gain independence (usually by 9-18 months of age). With EC, we tune into what our babies are born asking for, team up to help them use the toilet while they develop motor skills and long-term memory, and eventually teach them how to do it themselves. It's a very natural transition to toilet independence. Parents who EC use the diaper as a "back-up" instead of a permanent, wearable toilet. We invest our time up-front (not as much as you'd guess) so we don't have to potty train and reteach our children to go in the toilet later. EC can be done part-time, with or without diapers, with any type of potty...but the top hat potty makes EC dramatically easier. The top hat potty bowl is "Go Diaper Free" author Andrea Olson's top recommended tool for doing elimination communication with a newborn baby. The top hat potty helps the world by: Reducing the barriers to starting Elimination Communication for parents worldwide - These potties make EC so much easierReducing diaper waste - ECed babies typically use less than 1/2 the diapers of non-ECed babiesHelping parents stick with EC because they now have the right tools - longevity! Do your part and conveniently start using the toilet with your baby, today...reducing the number of diapers in the landfill and helping your baby stay clean and feel heard. <3

Update Dec 5th 2019:Found another awesome way to use this. As a travel potty! I pop a biodegradable dog poop bag in it (we have a dog, so had bags handy) and voila, potty on the go. My baby has used it this way a few times now when out and about. It's (literally) freezing cold here now, so pottying her in the great outdoors isn't really an option. Plus when running errands the baggy is great because she can go in the nice warm car, I tie a knot, and can dispose of it later when I'm able to. Very helpful with a tiny baby!I just gave birth to my second baby a week ago. We EC with our first, and I remember seeing this potty and wondering if it would be worth it, but never tried it. Fast forward six years, and wow I wish I'd have bought it back then!It is SO EASY to use. My eight day old daughter has pretty clear cues for when she has to pee and poop. This potty has made pottying her so easy we have caught almost every pee and poop since we got it. She is too small to actually be sat on it, but because of the shape/size I can rest my own hands on it as I support her legs, back and head with my body. It's great. The cotton fleece cozy is a fantastic addition too. Coming into winter it's nice not to have to touch the cold plastic, or to have her body touch it! We haven't really left our house with her yet, but when we do I'll be bringing this with us! Read more
I used this for the first time this morning. My son is only 3 weeks old. He liked it and it was super easy for him to sit in.Update: son is almost 8 weeks old and I don’t ever have to change a poopy diaper. He uses this potty very willingly. Now if I can only catch the pee pee. Read more
This doesn’t include the actual potty. Misleading title and photos in the description below the product. Can’t even find th top hat potty bowl this goes with for sale on amazon. Very disappointed! Read more
Some reviews are stating that they got just the cozy, which made me weary of buying but I received everything!Excited to give it a try! Perfect size for a newborn for EC! Read more
I agree with the many reviews I unfortunately didn’t read ahead of time... this is very misleading to call the product a potty and then have to scroll and scroll to see the asterisk that this “variation” does not include the potty. Very frustrating. Read more
Misleading item title. I expected to receive the potty, cozy, and band and instead just received the cozy. Very disappointed. Read more
A lot of the negative reviews are about people buying just the cozy (which is half the price, but because it doesn't include the potty). Their reviews literally read "extra undyed cozy".My little girl struggles to go poo and even though she is breastfed, she gets constipated sometimes. After 2 days of offering the potty, she just used it to poo and completely emptied herself! What a relief for her! She liked it so much more than how she usually goes (which is when I change her). She hasn't pooped in her diaper since a month old, except skid marks, so this is a great option recommended for her by her doctor.I did have trouble getting the poop out of the potty and into the toilet. It made a huge mess, but with some practice in my end this will be amazing for our family! Read more
I bought this for a friend after having a terrible time potty training my own child because she got her tiny butt stuck in a toddler potty and refused to sit on a toilet again for 1.5 years. It’s small enough to be used with an infant and padded to keep their buns comfortable. I wish I’d known about this years ago. Sadly, my husband didn’t realize it was in the box and threw it away before it she could get it so I have no feedback on the actual use. Good luck! Read more
