Update R.I.P June 2018Bought it November 2015Lasted for 2 1/2 yearsCause of sudden death, electronic controls inside the unit failed, I replaced the battery still I was unable to revive it.I think that 2 1/2 years is too short of life expectancy, I was expecting it to last for at least for 4 to 5 years.Complicated electronics inside which do not seem to last.Lesson learned I replaced with a countertop with regular on/off switch, no batteries, no PCB boards.Back to basicsI bought this ToiletTree after my old tank counter top Waterpik stop working (8years), and the hose broke. The reason why I choose the ToiletTree is that on April 2014 I bought my dad a similar unit model # TTP-Pro2000w. (The second generation)It’s been over a year, and my dad is very happy with his unit, he had zero problems with it.So having a good feedback from a family member, the obvious choice was to get a new unit from the same manufacturer. When I find a product that works, and it’s reliable I do not feel like experimenting with new things. So my dad and I sat down, and compared both products side by side, to see what changes the manufacturer have done after a year, and if the changes are positive or negative.Below are pictures of the new model and the older one side by side. Both units have the same size, shape and almost the same weight (very little difference between both)The new one that I got has the refill on the bottom of the tank, which it’s more comfortable to do than the older one; on both of them you can slide out and remove the water tank for either filling or to empty, and dry out the tank. The new one its inductive charging, which means that you only leave it on its cradle to charge, there are no physical metal contacts between parts or cables that you need to plug in to charge the unit, I went for this design since I have an Oral toothbrush that also charges by induction, and it has proven to be reliable and without complications. The new one has a press button to release the head and then pull out, the older one it’s just pull. I am guessing it’s a safety feature, so the head does not come out by itself while working (something that never had happen to my dad). The other cosmetic changes are the tank that was changed from an opaque blue, to a clear blue, and the sticker for the buttons, which still carries the same functions.Overall the manufacturer has improved the design, without doing drastic changes, something that I agree with.Performance wise, the old Waterpik counter top had more water volume, and more pressure. But in the other hand the Waterpik counter top is much noisier (tack, tack, tack noise that was very loud), I had to stretch a lot the hose to reach my mouth (I am 6’2”), and it takes too much counter space.I already did my first flossing with it, the product does the job that is intended for, it is more comfortable for me to use this cordless unit than the older counter top with the hose.I have large hands, and it is very easy for me to hold it in my hands, I think that a kid or an adult with smaller hands may not have the same opinion, so I recommend that you read other reviews, and opinions with regards to the size of the unitIt’s a matter of choices, I am new at using a portable cordless irrigator, and I see in it a lot of advantages compared to the counter top irrigator, I will update this review in a couple of months to give a better feedback.I hope the review is helpful, if you have any questions or comments please let me know. Happy water flossing!Pictures below, left new induction charger model, right the older plug-in charge model, and tank removal. Read more

Love this Oral water tool! I bought my first one last year in May (2015). Absolutely love the way my teeth and gums feel after using it, which I do now many times a day, because it feels so good. Originally I got the $39.99 version of this (battery one), and it worked and did a great job. Almost 1 year after that purchase, it stopped charging. I was so bummed, contacted the company right away, and WOW, they sent me a new one, the upgraded model! Shipped priority the same day, so I was out of my water "flosser" just 1 day! What an amazing customer service! I already said how much I love their product, but because their customer satisfaction is so valued by them, I just bought another one for my husband, who is loving it too! Now, some info about the "flooser": the H2O container holds about 1.5 cups. I use warm water straight from the faucet. We keep them plugged in, so ready to use anytime. It has 3 speeds, so you have a choice how strong you want the jet to be. Also, it comes with 2 tips, with different color ID ring, so theoretically, 2 people can use the same machine. I just want to have my own! I think hygienically, it's better, albeit, a bit selfish... Highly recommend this water flosser and company. Read more

I have floss that I like, but in an effort to reduce plastic waste I thought I'd give this a try. Another reviewer said she could use it in the shower, so I thought that would make it easy to use, and to remember.Unfortunately, the manufacturer's instructions for this seem to suggest it should *not* be used in water - i.e. in the shower. Charging was super simple, and assembly is quick and easy as well. However, using this to floss was a whole other ball game.In theory, you just point the nozzle toward your gums and press the button. Seems easy, right? Guess again! I managed to spray water on all four walls of the bathroom while using this! I eventually figured out that I had to keep my mouth partially closed while moving the water flosser from one tooth to the next in order to prevent the waterworks, but it's kind of a learning curve, and I can't really say I've mastered it, even after a few tries. The flosser also has three different settings for the type of water pressure, but although I tried each of them, it didn't seem like there was any difference at all. Maybe mine is defective, but the pressure options don't seem to work. Finally, after each use of the flosser, you have to empty out the water tank and let it air dry, which seems like a lot of extra maintenance for a unitasker. Maybe if you have space to store this in the open position in your bathroom, you won't mind, but in my tiny bathroom, keeping the charger on the counter and then also leaving out the flosser itself - in two pieces - to dry is just a lot of used counter space. I think this also comes in a battery version without the charger, so that might be a better space-saving option. And if you're looking for a great portable flosser, I've got bad news for ya. While this is undoubtedly smaller than a lot of the larger water flossing units and therefore is more portable than those would be, it's not what I consider "travel-friendly" by comparison to a tiny package of floss. This is about the size of a small curling iron - without the charger base.As for zero waste / plastic reduction...this appears to be made of 100% plastic...so yeah. No. (In theory, you're buying it once and reusing it for a long time - but I'd bet that it would take dozens of containers of plastic floss to equal the amount of plastic in this flosser, so I don't believe it's a good zero waste trade.)With all that said, I did find that this worked to get some food pieces out of my teeth, so it seems to do the job it was made for.I'll keep mine and see if I can figure out how NOT to spray the walls, but I have a feeling this may find its way to the giveaway pile not long from now.
