I am now buying, probably, my 4th Thermophore heating pad. Totally worth the money for chronic pain. Several times, I've made the mistake of getting the one with the switch you need to hold Down but I just tucked the button under my thigh and it worked but I prefer this one. Just read to make sure you get the switch you want. Yes, I do replace them, though not frequently, and each one owes me nothing considering they heat up enough to cook pancakes on, (you chronic pain people know what I mean!), I lay on it or wrap it around a body part, or it will slip to the floor during the night and I get up and find myself standing on it. It can take abuse.Kids....get your mom one for her back, you're probably the reason it hurts.UPDATE: first use. Won't stay on. Paid more for the regular switch and it doesn't work. I'll return and get the hold Down one. There are dozens of ways to get around that one little flaw and saves about $12. Should have just stayed with that one. Lesson learned. Read more

I have used heating pads for years and years staring back with "cramps". Purchased this brand after using one in physical therapy and feeling the incredible difference. This is by far the very best heating pad I have used to date!! The moist heat penetrates DEEP to your bones like nothing I have ever felt. High is TOO hot for me which is a first. This is my second thermophore as my first just stopped one day after 3 years of daily use.Pros: 1. Heats up slowly and goes off slowly so sometimes i don't realize it's off. 2. Deep heats like NOTHING else, grabbing moisture from the air is no joke! 3. Turns off automatically so I don't get burned (for too long haha) and if I get distracted or interupted I don't waste electricy for hours or pose a fire hazard by forgetting to turn it off. 4. Super LARGE so my entire back gets treatment if I want causing my entire body relax as my pain is relieved somewhat.CONS:1. Cord is in the middle of one end so it is ALWAYS in the way (my other one's cord was off to one side some which is more comfortable to position when using it for back pain). Your choice for cord placement, if using it on your back, is over your head or between your legs, neither are very comfortable. ugh.2. Cord twists really bad which is probably why my other one stopped working.3. Pricey but as people usually say about "cheap" items here, "you get what you pay for". This is one of the VERY FEW things I pay more for as it is SO worth it!The benifits outweigh the negatives by far. I am TRYING to hande the cord carefully with my everyday use and trying to think of a solution. Read more

Very disappointed! This was a gift for my daughter and she loved while it worked. However after only less than two months it caught on fire! It wasn't even on. For the money this shouldn't have happened. Thankfully my daughter's house didn't burn down. This product shouldn't even get one star. Don't buy. Read more

I bought this 22 years ago in Houston TX and it finally stopped working. I was so happy to find the same pad by the same company and now it has an improvement-3 heat settings with the option to have each setting on for about 20min at a time. Love this moist heating pad and would recommend it. We use it for humans and our dog that had ACL surgery as he needs moist heat on that knee and the low setting is perfect for him (with us by his side of course). Read more

We have been using this heating pad for a few weeks now and it has been amazing. I love how it has some weight to it. No it is not as heavy as what you get from the physical therapist but it is heavy enough to press the heat into your skin. Usually even at top temperature I am still wanting more heat. With this pad at the lowest heat I am having to back away as times. At my worst I can go to setting 2 but only for a very short amount of time and it has to be setting on top of me not me leaning against it or laying on it.I suffer from degenerative disc disease and fibromyalgia and this heating pad has been a lifesaver in these below zero temps this past week. I would recommend this to any fibro suffer just as a way to warm up just to start the day. This is helping me start my day a half an hour sooner. Read more

I bought a large Sunbeam "plush" pad on here not long ago and it is so lightweight that if I lay on my back and drape the pad on, the cord with the power switch pulls the thing right off me and onto the floor. If I manage to get it to stay on my back, it's so light that you don't feel it laying on your back. This one has weight. No joke. It's large and in charge and feels amazing. Don't waste your time on the cheap junk pads made today. Drop the cash on this one and you won't regret it. Read more

I've owned this product for a month or two, and so far, I really appreciate it. Liked it so much, I got one for my wife as well. The pros: big size is great, almost like a small throw or blanket. It really gets hot, and it has a auto shut off after about 25 minutes. Also, seems to have a long cord, which is nice. The cons: sometimes it would be nice to be able to disable the auto shut off for longer heating periods. But, I understand why there is an auto shut off, because it does get hot! Read more

Ordered on for my wife at Christmas time. She loves it. Very large, soft and flexible. The one complaint? It only stays on for 20-25 minutes, which is a disappointment. We wish it stayed on much longer. I like it in spite of the longevity. I ordered one agin for myself just the other day. I do wish there was a way to somehow make it stay on longer. All I can think of is plugging it into a "Clapper" devise. If anyone has another idea, please let me know. I highly recommend this pad to anyone. Read more

This heating pad was recommended by my massage therapist. She said it was more durable than most heating pads. And it's comfortable, the only problem it has an auto shut off of 25 minutes, that's it. Most other heating pads can stay on for 2 hours. 24 minutes when I am in pain is nothing, it's useless too me. Read more

Good heating pad but wish it had the older slider switch. Works well but worried how long it will last as my other Thermophore was hardly used and only lasted a couple years. Read more

I used a thermaphor in my practice for 10 years. I could leave it on for the whole hour treatment. This one turns off after 20 minutes. For the price, it's not worth it. Read more
