I've had this for several months, and have had no issues with it. I use it on my knee at night, wrap the ties under my knee and use a safety pin to hold them in place. In my microwave, I heat it for about 1 min 45 sec, and it lasts for about an hour. Be very careful on how long you heat these - the amount of time needed varies depending on the strength of the wattage of your microwave. The more watts, the shorter the time to heat it!! I've seen reviews where it melted - I would bet those people had a high powered microwave and didn't realize it. When I visited my mom's house, I heated it the same time as i usually do at home, and it almost burned me, I hadn't realized her microwave was that much more powerful than mine. I love this heat wraps for several reasons. They can be tied around the waist, shoulder, hip wherever there is an ache that needs heat to be bring some relief. Not only it soothing but the amount of heat is controlled by you. You can microwave it for a longer or shorter period. When it gets ugly, dirty it can be hand washed and air dried. I have had back "problems" for many years and there are times when I live on a heating pad. With this pad you can tie it on and not feel a prisoner of an electric cord. I use it often and love it. This is the second time in many years I have purchased this product. Due to a recent back injury I needed to use it a lot and needed a back up when the original heating pad needed washing. It only takes 60 seconds to heat up to a perfect temperature for my aching back muscles. I like the fact it has ties to allow me to attach it to myself while I am moving around the house or in my car. It is the only one I have found that allows it to be rewashed multiple times.
