I was diagnosed with Rosacea (inside my eyelids) late last year along with chronic dry eye. I went to my doctor (first time) here in San Francisco and was immediately told that all this pain I was having and all the redness in my eyes was very obvious that I would have these conditions for the rest of my life. My doctor recommended a steril for 2 weeks and then fake tears of a multitude of brands I could choose from. I honestly don’t know who had recommended Thera Tears over Refresh Tears but I felt much better using Thera.After deciding to purchase them on Amazon I ran into this product (Omega Supplement from Thera) and I said to myself why not give it a try. I had severe dry eye syndrome for over a year which I sought help from 2 different doctors and neither diagnosed me correctly nor mentioned how taking this product could help. Ever the skeptic nurse, I thought all the advertised claims were just hype until I started reading other Amazon user reviews and realized I needed to get some of this ASAP. Meibomian gland dysfunction and evaporative dry eye is something I'm telling other sufferers about because I know I am not the only one finding diagnosis and treatment confusing and contradictory. I'd been a soft contact lens wearer without any infections, ulcers or other issues since 1978. I thought I'd be wearing my glasses permanently after 6 months of being unable to tolerate my contacts for even a few minutes due to pain and the feeling there was a foreign body in my eye every time I blinked. My dark circles were much darker, the skin around my eyes was dryer and consequently looked older. Make-up was a real chore to put on. I was losing eyelashes and they didn't seem to be growing back as quickly. Within 2 weeks of taking 3 of these capsules every day, the burning, scratchy feeling was gone. After a month I was completely asymptomatic but because I hate taking pills, I slacked off a bit. My eyes have gotten so bad- constantly burning and tearing and the eyedrops recommended by my eye doctor don't really help, so I hopped online to find SOMETHING that would give me relief. My LASIK surgeon recommended I start these a month before surgery and continue for a month after. I'm a few months post op and have continued using them because they don't bother me, so why not? My mother had LASIK about a year before me and had never tried these. Because she was experiencing dry eye, I told her about these and she said they've made a huge difference.I keep mine in the fridge and take 3 right before bed so that any fishy side effects are gone by morning. My mother has tried keeping them in the fridge and at room temp and doesn't think there's any difference if you take before bed anyway. I loved it! I already take Lutein and use eye drops for my dry eye in my right eye that started about a month ago but after taking this the first 24 hours I slowly but surely started to regain moisture and now I barely use my wye drops. I’m sure I’ve regained moisture and it’s been Atleast a week now. I use my eye drops maybe 1-3 times per day and that’s from doing it every hour! Please please guys! I have been diagnosed with dry eye syndrome as a result of LASIK, and a mild case of Blepharitis. As a result my eyes can feel quiet sore at times, but worse they appear very red, which for me was the bigger problem working with clients on a daily basis (quiet vain I know). However the redness has persisted for 3 years and did knock my confidence, often getting comments asking if I am high! This as a result often meant I was ashamed and embarrassed to directly look at people.To say I have tried everything is an understatement. I have used a wide range of eye drops and ointments in combination with steps such as eyelid hygiene, heat eyebags etc, and like most other people have become very desperate.I came across these softgels capsules after trying the Thera Tears eyegels. I've been suffering from blepharitis and dry eye syndrome for a couple of years. The eye drops didn't seem to make any difference. At times, I had to use steroid eye drops to keep the pain under control. I bought those capsule as a last ditch attempt having read positive reviews. To my huge surprise there is a huge improvement in my eyes' condition following 2 weeks of taking the capsules. The pain is gone. The eyes feel a bit dry but not too much. I don't need steroids and I use drops only a couple times a day.
