We don't care how much noise a child can sleep through, there's something about the click of a doorknob or the rattling of a door that can break through even the deepest sleep. We were tired of putting a rag or sock in the door, so we created the Cushy Closer Door Cushion! With noisy husbands and kids running in and out, curious toddlers exploring door locks, pets stuck in or out of a room, noisy garage-to-house doors; we have found many more uses for our Cushy Closers over the years - what door in your home could use one?

If there’s not a large gap between your door and frame, this will be too thick as-is. I wasn’t happy with the appearance of alternatives though, so I made this work by cutting it open and removing some of the padding. The cut is easily concealed, and the door closes now. 😊There are signs of wear after about a month of rubbing on the strike plate, so I suspect I’ll need to replace it within a year. Overall, pleased with this purchase. Read more

We just moved into a new house and the room for the baby had the most annoying door ever! I don’t know if it’s because the door and the doorframe had fresh paint on it (even though it was dried) when you’d go to open or close it there would be this weird and pretty loud almost squish-like sound. As if the paint was sticking to each other? I have no idea how else to explain it but it would be loud enough to make the baby stir if I went in there to check on him. I bought this hoping it would fix our issue and the first few nights it worked perfectly! But then all of a sudden it randomly made the door not close all the way anymore. I was pretty bummed out, and after a night of him waking up constantly due to the light shining in his room I came back on here and took the advice another reviewer wrote about cutting into it to remove the extra padding. Worked perfect! It looks a little ugly now, but if I can get a good night’s sleep while he stays sound asleep then I won’t complain at all. This is a smart invention. Read more

My daughter shares a room with us so I wanted to get this to solve our door "click" issue. I am not sure if it is because our doors are nearly 100 years old, but the majority of the time the door pops open, as if the fabric is too thick and it pushes itsself out. After a week of use it now still makes the annoying noise it made before when we would twist the handle and the latch would creak. Also, my dog and cats could push the door open so I will be returning this. I think the biggest issue is how thick the fabric is and that the elastic stretched out far too easily. Read more

This is one of those items that does exactly what it's supposed to do. I purchased one for our house to stop the teenagers from slamming their doors, and it worked well enough that I got one for a friend who's pregnant. There's still a "thunk" noise when the teenagers go at it, but if I were entering and leaving a baby's room with an adult's dexterity and intent, it would be completely silent. I really wish I'd had one of these when my kids were little. The stitching is quite strong, and should hold up for a good long while. The patterns are subtle enough to keep from jarringly clashing with stuff, but bright enough that you can spot from a distance if the closer is in place.I also liked that you can pull one end off and leave the other end dangling, when you want to "disengage" the cushion. That way it's still right where you need it the next time you need to "deploy" it. Read more

My 4 kids (7yrs and under) are in 3 bedrooms near each other in our house. My 5yr old gets up at night to use the bathroom most nights. Though I’m super happy he does this on his own, he doesn’t know his own strength and tends to slam doors which wakes everyone up. I searched and looked for a buffer and found this. It is AMAZING! No more slammed doors. No more clicking because the door closes snugly but doesn’t latch. There are other brands that are cheaper and thinner (which I bought at the same time) and I had to double the other one up to get the same effect. This one is my favorite and I’m so so grateful I found it. Read more

I own several of these. They work really well on roung knobs to dampen the noise of the door opening and closing. It also prevents the door from latching onto the wall, so my toddler can come out just by pushing or pulling the door - I like that but you need to be ok with toddlers exploring outside their room.I wish they had a different design that worked for L handles (perhaps with a cord to tie around the handle? Or a cord with a button?). I always take one on trips because hotel bathroom doors tend to be super noisy, but they often don’t fit around the handle. Read more

These are such a clever invention. They are simple to use, do not slip-off, and most importantly, they work! We live in an old house with three children and there are always doors slamming and banging. When my third is napping, this has been a godsend. I used to cringe and hold my breath every time a hallway door shut, but now the sound is completely buffered. LOVE these. Read more

This is very useful for silencing the noisy door hardware on my child's bedroom door. However, it's so thick that the door cannot be shut nearly as far as it used to, allowing more sound to get through the remaining crack than I'd prefer. It also, obviously, stops door latching. The AC unit in my child's room creates some negative pressure, pulling the door slightly ajar when the compressor kicks in. If the fabric were a decent bit thinner, it would probably solve both of these problems. Read more
