This is a healthy eating plate for children that have not yet hit puberty. If a child is overweight there is no doubt that they will lose weight using this plate because they are currently eating too much. My husband & I had bought the adult plates some years ago. We got them out again to help us get our weight under control. Our 5 yr old son saw them & wanted a plate like mummy & daddy. The 12 year old child that this plate was brought for was so thrilled with the plate and so far we have seen a slow steady weight loss. When we first removed the plate from the packaging I instantly thought it would have been better if this plate was made out of melamine or strong plastic being handled by young hands and accidents are bound to happen.
