We haven’t had our baby yet. So it’s intention for use hasn’t been needed at the moment. I do however sit, recline and rock in the chair almost daily. I am 5’7 and I don’t mind having my feet on the floor to rock back and forth, but you’ll probably like to have some sort of stool still for your feet to rock from a more convenient position. Especially if you’re shorter than me. I know I will be getting one. So if that bothers you that you have to get yet another item, this chair is probably not for you. I know they have a swivel chair that has a stool, but it doesn’t recline.All in all it depends on your preferences. I prefer to have a powered reclining chair because I know if the baby does fall asleep in our arms, it will be easier to get back up from a reclined position rather than trying to not wake up the little one while struggling to push in the leg rest with our feet.The only thing I would change is to have the recline somehow move forward instead of just back towards the wall. We have to have it off the wall pretty far for it to recline fully and we don’t have the largest room. So it does take up quite a bit of space. That is the reason for the 4 stars as well as the price. It’s more than I would have liked to have spent but the sacrifice I was willing to take to have a piece of luxury and ease.Other than that, I’m a neutral person and I love this color grey. The fabric is super soft. I thought it was going to be rough because it is stain resistant and repels liquids. So that was a nice surprise. It was easy to set up and feels very sturdy. UPDATE August 2021The creaking noise was because the chair back not seating properly. This was due to a screw in the female part of the joint which was not fully screwed in which was blocking the male part from going all the way in. See pictures. Otherwise, the chair is great and there is no more creaking. Leaving 4 stars because I had to discover and fix the creaking problem.------------------Decided to purchase the Nurture& glider over Pottery Barn kids mostly because we were able to get the glider delivered before the baby comes in September! Also, the adjustable head rest is an added bonus. Would have given 5 stars if it were not for the intermittent creaking noise (described below).Pros:* shipped fast and was not damaged* was easy to assemble* bottom section is heavy but fit through doors easily* the texture of the fabric is soft and comfortable (TBD in regards to durability)* fabric seems like it should be easy to clean (needs more trial, will follow up)* motor is pretty quiet* love the idea of the adjustable head rest although unsure about the utilityCons:* there is some intermittent creaking during the glider rocking action although its not consistent. The creaking seems to be coming from the area where the backrest fits together with the base. I have had another glider that was mildly comfortable, but I wanted a glider recliner since I spend so much time rocking my daughter. After doing a ton of research I chose this because I thought the seat back would be high enough, it had an adjustable head pillow and it had good reviews. I’m sorry to say the chair is not comfortable. It’s very firm and you are sitting in a very upright position when rocking. I almost feel like I am hunched forward and I am way more uncomfortable than my other chair. Honestly you spend more time rocking a baby than sitting in a reclined position, if you have a tough sleeper you know this. So, the fact that as soon as you recline a little bit to be more comfortable in this chair you can no longer rock, it defeats the whole purpose. I am tall- 5’9” and would not recommend this for a tall person. My husband is 6’1” and also thinks it is very uncomfortable. This chair is only good for very short people or someone that likes to sit very upright when rocking or nursing. The chair also started to squeak when rocking at certain time after having it for 3 weeks. IMO it is better to get a cozy swivel glider with a big or matching height foot stool. That achieves the rocking and the foot height when you want to pass out in your rocker because you’ve been soothing a baby for hours. Sorry, this chair is just not comfy, cozy or what I’d want in a chair you spend so much time in. This chair is smooth and comfortable in every way. I’m 5’7” and it’s a very comfortable height. The chair feels very strong, sturdy, and durable. The product itself is 5 stars. The rating of 4 stars is only due to receiving the wrong color chair. However, the customer service was wonderful. We searched high and low to find the perfect chair for our nursery and ended up taking a gamble on this chair without testing it out before buying it. We are so happy we decided to go with this chair! It’s stylish, functional and most importantly comfortable! The electric recline is smooth and very quiet, the adjustable head support is a great added feature that I never knew I needed but I’m so glad to have it! The chair is nice and spacious and the back high enough for us taller folks. The chair was so easy to put together and shipping was extremely fast! This recliner can be best described as “cozy”. After a long research, for me what set it apart from within the price range competitors is the automated head rest (quite comfortable).Other than that, the look and feel is of a well made quality sofa.
