I was advised my specialist at Manchester Royal eye hospital to use this type of mask for my dry eyes I used IG every morning at first but after the su cess In now use it every couple of dayys . No more tears, no more sore eyes, it is not a cure but it is a solution. When I think how many years I ve suffered I could shed tears.I am so pleased with the results that I have just replaced my first mask. I have informed my own GP. I hope he will be recommending them. I started getting blepharitis symptoms this July. Absolute nightmare at the age of 26, especially when I love wearing eye makeup!I was told to create my own hot compress using a cotton pad or a washcloth in hot water, but this was too wasteful and fiddly for long term treatment, so I invested in this.Best purchase ever. Really comfortable eye mask and keeps your eyes HOT for the full 10 minutes. Its a lot easier to clean than a washcloth is as well - I have some Clinell antibacterial wipes that I regularly wipe the mask down with (they use it in hospitals, it contains clorhexidine) and I've had no issues.The instructions say 20-25 seconds in the microwave, but I've found I need to increase that time the more I use it - not sure if that's just my heat tolerance going up or my microwave being weak though.I have an 850W microwave and a good blast for 40 seconds makes it lovely and hot. I set my phone timer for 10 mins, lie back and listen to the radio or a podcast.When the time is up I massage my eyelids and wipe them down with blephasol gel and/or Wet Ones, then I apply my prescribed chloramphenicol ointment to my eyelid margins. If my eyes are feeling drier than usual then I also apply Hycosan Extra eye drops. With this routine, my eyes have stopped their excessive watering.Honestly, even if I didn't have blepharitis, this is a fantastic way to start and end your day with. It's so relaxing!The only issue (if you can even call it that) is there is a little plasticy smell after heating up, which I imagine is just from the little beans inside. Doesn't bother me, but if you're sensitive to smells you can easily mask it by putting a drop of lavender oil or something on it. Read more

I’ve had a calazion since the end of August, and developed into a large and unsightly lump. I tried a hot compress, golden eye, but nothing worked. After visiting the opticians, I was referred to remove the calazion. To avoid this treatment I purchased the hot eye compress three weeks ago. I have been using it regularly, at least 6 times a day. It’s easy to use, and much more effective than a normal hot compress. It has reduced in size and become much softer. Although it hasn’t disappeared, it is much better, and eventually I hope I won’t need to receive treatment. I also use baby shampoo twice a day to clean my eyelashes. It may not work for everyone, but I recommend the product, as I thought I would not be able to reduce the calazion. I may continue to use the product after it has disappeared as I am prone to styes. This is a good heated eye mask. Takes 25 seconds to heat up in the microwave and retains heat for around 10 minutes. I had a lump in my eyelid caused by a blocked oil gland. It looked horrendous and within a few days of using this mask the swelling had reduced. You need to use it consistently; three + times each day for 10 minutes. I plan to use this on a weekly basis on an ongoing basis to prevent the oil glands from blocking again.
