The best temporary dye I’ve ever used. Turning brown to white is no easy task but we followed other review suggestions to mix it with just a bit of leave in conditioner and I was able to do my husbands long hair and beard with just over one container (one container would be enough for most any job usually). It brushed in smoothly and wasn’t too hard once blow dried (not soft and flowy like permanent dye). I did brush out the dried beard to fluff and make it nice for kids to tug on though. Came out feeling like his normal beard. It also wanted to dye his skin silver but a baby wipe easily wiped that off. This is a massive improvement to the spray stuff. Will definitely buy again. (Before and After picture attached). So this stuff is good for what it is. DON'T apply it to dry hair. That is a but of a mistake. Addressing some things said in other reviews:-Yes, it does smell strongly like men's cologne, but If you apply sparingly, it is not bad at all a few hours into my day, I coiuldn't smell it.-The listing photo is misleading. it is a bit crunchy but diluted and applied with a leave-in conditioner to damp hair is not bad at all.-The black is not black black but did the job to cover my highlights.-It didn't come off on my white shirt.-It washes out easily.-One container was MORE than enough. I was Reggie Rocket for halloween and this stuff worked great- after the second attempt! I applied too much when my hair was wet and it came out crunchier than a bag of potato chips the first time I tried using it. However, I found that styling my hair like usual and then re-wetting the tips and finger-coiling with the hair mud worked best. It didn't weigh my roots down that much. If you have thin, curly hair like me, this stuff works amazing! The only downside is that it does make your hair feel a bit dry, even if you moisturize it beforehand. Read more

I'm a male with dark blond, almost brown hair. I wanted to do the gray thing but without bleaching my hair and possibly looking like a fool. I, also, like the idea of temporary. Just in case. I've tried the sprays which stain the scalp badly, make the hair crispy, and the color gets on everything. BUT this pomade is a game changer. First, it changed my hair color to a dark gray with a blueish tint. I thought it might be a dull gray, but that it is not. It didn't stain my scalp other than the hairline which I simply wiped away easily with cold water. And the pomade gives you the option to use as a wet look or not. For my best results, I applied to freshly showered, not necessarily washed, hair. Then, I towel dried, then applied. This gave me the wet look until I rubbed it out to create a fuller dry look. This was used for a school dress up 100 year old something or other event, shown in White being on top, and the silver by his ears (side burn area) His hair is naturally an ash blonde. The second picture is with the white in very dark brown hair.The trick is to do smaller sections on damp hair, and brush it through before it completely drys. If you let it dry in clumps than it will not look good at all. It smells good, kind of like Gillette shaving cream, so a masculine scent - subtle, not over powering.I bought the white, the silver, and the blue. Between the white and silver it's a slight difference the white being slightly lighter but also has a silver sheen, and the grey silver is slightly darker with a more pronounced grey tone. So white would be more like a sterling silver metal, and the grey would be more of a stainless steel or palladium. Read more

We purchased the silver color for my boyfriend's hair costume this past Halloween. It was awesome! It went on really easily. He has long, shaggy, auburn hair and we were going for a mad scientist look (think Einstein in his salt and pepper years). The coverage was great! He normally hates hair products, so we did a little a time and built it up. It does get a little stiff, but we brushed it and blow dried it a little in between coats and that helped us shape it. It took 10-15 minutes to get the look we were going for. He dressed up in his costume 2 different times and we still have a lot of this stuff left.It held really well and lasted all night! Granted, it was October so it's not like he was sweating a lot. Can't really speak to how this may hold up in the heat, but I imagine it would be better than the spray color you get at the costume stores. It can be messy to apply, but honestly, applying with your hands is the way to go. His hair felt clean and soft after washing it out.It washes off super easily and doesn't leave any residue, so getting it off my hands and washing it out of his hair took little effort. I accidentally got some on his neck and the shoulder of his teal shirt when we were applying it. I used a baby wipe and it came right off his neck and most came off his shirt (the rest came out in the wash).I will definitely be purchasing this again for any costume needs and recommend it for anyone who wants to play with color! Don't believe the ad, this is not good on long hair. I'm sure it would work for short hair well if you want it to be spiky, but on long hair it's all clumpy and feels like melted crayon and glue. We did put it on my boyfriend's beard and that was fun. Limited usefulness. Read more
