This heats up well in the microwave. Perfect heat to help with cramping and at this moment I'm using it for my neck and shoulders and boy lemme tell ya, it is extremely soft and comfortable!! I was worried when purchasing because some people said it smelled awful. To me, it smells like any other microwaveable pad I've had before. This is an excellent choice if you want something hot, soft, and cozy for any type of pain or discomfort.
