We use this placemat when we go out to restaurants, and it is perfect! I can put it on the table and put my daughter's food right on it. I don't have to worry about her messing up the table or my little one throwing her plate on the floor. We use it in conjunction with the Inglesina high chair http://smile.amazon.com/Inglesina-Fast-Table-Chair-Black/dp/B00IOGIM9S/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1423345005&sr=8-4&keywords=travel+high+chair. We put the mat down and then attach the high chair over it, keeping the mat in place. Otherwise, the suction cups on the mat were no match for my one year old. We store the mat right in the bag with the high chair, and we are ready to go. It says that you can roll the mat up, which you can, but if you store it that way, it will not stay flat on the table (and the suction cups will not keep it down). Over I would recommend this product! Read more

Overall this does the job, but it's not perfect.Pros:1. Good size2. Easy to cleanCons:1. Suction cups don't stick well to our wooden table2. Crumb catcher is a nice idea, but became a toy on day 2 for our 11-month-old - we cut it off.Again, overall it does the job. Our daughter does try to fold it up and pull it off the table, but at least 3 of the suction cups work relatively well so she can't get it completely off and I'd rather deal with that than whole dishes of food hitting the floor. My husband loves the disposable place mats that I got to take to restaurants better because they tape down completely on all four sides, but they're a little pricey to use for every meal so this works. This placemat is not very heavy-duty compared to another brand we own. It also doesn't have a rim like that other brand, which we miss. It is so creased from shipping that it still hasn't laid flat after a week. And it definitely doesn't suction to our wooden breakfast table! However, the large area it covers and the handy little food catcher in front help contain our toddler's mealtime messes. I just hope she doesn't figure out she can slide/throw it around easily... We love this item for our daughter. I feel good knowing that the place in front of her where she's going to put her hands is nice and clean and gives a good place to put her food (since when she was younger plates were a distraction). Our only problem is that we've gone through quite a few of them, because if we don't remember to clean it as soon as we get home it becomes moldy and we haven't had success getting the mold off. After the meal, we'd scrape off the food that we could, but we frequently get our daughter pasta with red pasta sauce so there's be residual pasta sauce left. In spite of the issues we've had having to go through multiple placemats, I like this product better than the others. The "catch" in front really helps. Read more

This is a good product but a little limited in it's use. I wanted to keep her little fingers off the dirty tables when we were out and about and for the most part, this does the trick. She isn't eating anything off it yet, she is too young. She just likes to drum on the tables and put her hands on them. My only complaint would be that it doesn't stick to all surfaces but will be fine at most restaurants. I specifically had the outdoor tables at the coffee shop in mind when I bought it and it doesn't secure well to those due to small holes in the table. I'd recommend it as long as you understand the limitations, (if it doesn't stick, your little one will almost surely pull it off and play with it, not a horrible thing in my opinion it keeps her entertained). Also, it rolls up nicely and fits in the diaper bag. Read more

I have owned mine for 3 years. It washes well, does not stain and does not crack or rip. I am not sure what it's made of but it's tough. I love the surface. It has prevented many spills and helps toddlers eat off plactic bowls or plates without them sliding off the table as they try to navigate utensils. Then it also has a clever cup to catch any food that falls off the utensils. If you have kids, you should own one! Read more

I would give it 0 if I could. The idea is great and the trough for catching food is genius. Only problem is it doesn't stick to ANYTHING! I've tried it on every surface I can find and it does not suction on to anything, which makes it totally useless. So my 13 mo figured that out real quick and just whips it off the table and food goes flying all over the restaurant... Not embarrassing or anything! Read more

I bought this as a shower gift because I've used mine so much. The suction cups on the underside make it easy to adhere to most surfaces including those nasty airplane tray tables. The sides fold in and everything rolls into one bundle, containing the many messes my little one creates until I have time to wash the placemat. If you're concerned about your kid eating off of less than sanitary surfaces, this is the perfect solution. Read more

This was a god send item when my baby was baby led weaning, both at home and in restaurants. For those who complained on not the suckers not sucking because of the bend: open it flat and put it in the sink with the suckers facing up. Open the hot water and let it run HOT, leave it to soak a bit if you can too. Take it out and stick it to your worktop until it cools down. Then fold as described. I only did it once, on delivery day, and it worked wonders, never had a problem since. I expect to have to do the same when I unfold it now for my second child, as it has been in storage for ages. Very easy to clean under the tap, it saves you bad looks from waiters at restaurants and I am happy enough for my child to eat directly from this mat at a restaurant. Read more

We tried to use this but as it rolls up so neatly to carry it is difficult to flatten out to actually use. The suckers on the bottom don't work on most surfaces so I ended up just taking Milton wipes out with me and just cleaning the surface my lo was eating from. Much easier! Read more

Great product. Keeps my 15 month old much cleaner as food drops into the little tray instead of over her or her highchair. Folds up really neatly to enable use at restaurants too. So easy to clean after too - just rinse under a tap. Read more

I ignored other poor reviews on here and thought it would work but it really doesn't. The way it is folded in the packet means it constantly rolls up and really doesn't stick down. I am online now trying to send it back. Read more
