I absolutely LOVE this monitor, I just purchased it to replace the old Levana monitor that I had, whichI kept having to send back for replacements (over 5 times in the last year and a half), so I finally gave in and decided to purchase another monitor all together. My overall impression of this monitor is its fantastic! The picture quality and sound are great and I still cant get over how clear the picture is, especially in the dark when it's using the night vision (there is no pixilation and it's crystal clear). I also haven't experienced any lag time with it at all. My other monitor doesn't even come close to comparing to this one. This monitor is super easy to use, the camera was easy to install, there are no bright lights that are distracting to my daughter (on the actual camera) when the lights are off. I like the 2 way talk function, which I had with my other monitor and I tend to use quite a bit. I like that you can set a boundary and will notify you if your child crosses it.The ONLY reason I am giving this monitor 4 stars is because the screen doesn't stay on unless it's plugged in. If it's not on the charger it goes into power save mode and the screen goes black and you have to keep turning it back on if you want to see the room. It does have voice activation, so when it's in the power save mode, that will turn the monitor screen back on if there is any kind of noise that it detects. But for me, I prefer to have the screen on fully, at least until my daughter falls asleep because some times she has a hard time sleeping but doesn't always make a lot of noise. I did call over to the manufacturer and they said as of now there is no option to turn off the power save mode and keep the screen on when it's not plugged in.So the only thing I would say is that if being able to have the monitor on all the time is important to you, you may want to reconsider getting this one. I’ve been using this for almost a week now, so I’ll go over the pros and cons. First the cons. Unfortunately, I can’t use this monitor to replace my sound only monitor, which is a HUGE bummer and the reason why I knocked off stars. This monitor does have the voice activated option. When the monitor picks up baby crying the video will automatically pop on. Great right? Well not great if you want to actually sleep at night and not wake up every time your baby makes a squeak. If that’s what you want then this is perfect for you. You can’t adjust the sensitivity, like you can the basic ole vtech baby monitor. I also wish the brightness went down a lil more. When you wake to look at the monitor, it’s SO bright. I hate that you can’t shut off the power save mode when it’s not plugged in. You’re constantly hitting the video button if you wanna watch your babe sleep or be able to catch them right when they wake up. The white noise and lullabies are ok, but it comes from the camera so that’s ALL you hear no matter what volume you set the noise at. I don’t use it bc I have a hatch rest+, which I LOVE. I’m not sure if the white noise stays on until you shut it off, but You pretty much have to if you wanna hear your baby. Last con the room temperature thermometer isn’t accurate which is another huge disappointment. I now have to buy something else just to keep an eye on my sons room temp. His room is the coldest room in the house, so I like to keep an eye on it at night. I’ve tried resetting the camera by unplugging it and such, but no luck. It reads 10° higher than it actually is in there.Now the pros. Love the picture. It’s so clear and I can see my baby w good detail both day and night. The screen is the perfect size. I also love that you can zoom 6x and you can move the camera in all directions. I lay him on the floor to play on his play mat while I do other things. I can keep an eye on him while he plays. I’ve used the perimeteralarm once and it’s ok. It lets me know if baby has rolled out of his set area, but if his toe even breaks the line it’s alarming at me. I feel like that’s a bit too sensitive. I super weird about wanting clocks on everything so it’s awesome to me that this monitor has one. Not sure why any monitor wouldn’t. The battery life is really good for a video monitor. I’m always pushing the video button and it’ll still last all day unplugged. So yeah, it’s an ok monitor. I don’t think it’s worth the price considering all the stuff I hate about it, but that’s my personal preference someone else might love all my cons. I’m keeping it simply bc I love being able to move the cam around and the great quality picture. I can’t say how the range is, as my house is pretty small so everything reaches in here. Ha!UPDATE: Almost a year later and almost everything works just as well except....I can’t leave it unplugged for more than 1 min and then it goes completely DEAD. SIGH. Totally bummed about it too. This is my 4th summer monitor in 6 months!! we have had 2 of the non HD models and now this is our 2nd HD model and all have stopped and turned off for no reason? Plugged in and not plugged in! I love the Summer brand but their monitors are DANGEROUS! The monitor is supposed to be reliable to make sure your baby is safe and that’s hard to do when the monitor shuts off with no warning time and time again across 2 different models! I have photo and video documentation of each different monitor with all the same issues. Does anyone else have the same issue? I’ll bet more and more people are experiencing the same issue. I foresee a class action lawsuit at some point! Do NOT purchase! it’s not worth the risk of losing your child in the middle of the night should they get out, climb or fall out of a bed or crib! So far this has been great! Minor hiccup during setup (my unit, according to their customer service and the number on the back of my monitor) was shipped with outdated setup instructions, so the camera didn't go into pairing mode as expected. I needed to turn the camera on and THEN hold the power button on it for 8-10 seconds before it beeped loudly one time and the green light flashed, then immediately sync it via the add camera menu on the monitor. Sounds complicated, but it isn't. Menus are simple, but some labels might be nice on some of them.Picture quality is great (have not tried night vision, but I like the night light option on it. The music and intercom features work well. Reception is great in out house so far. Zoom and camera rotation and tilt work great. Battery life on the monitor leaves a little to be desired, but it's not terrible. Read more

Really great monitor and great picture quality. Battery life seems fine but we always have it plugged in over night. Easily mounted to the wall. I like that the display goes on and off quickly with the touch of the top button. VOC mode when plugged in does not turn off automatically.I do find that the lowest volume is still too loud, would like it to be quieter.Will be purchasing a second camera for baby #2UPDATE: the battery has worn out...needs to be plugged in constantly. Spent a long time looking for a 2 camera system to support a baby and toddler. This has high reviews and the picture quality lived up to expectations. Ultimately we returned the product though because of the auto-shutoff function of the screen. Our toddler wakes up silently and having the screen turn off every 2m unless it’s plugged in was a deal breaker. Wanted to keep this product ashes would buy again if they got rid of that ‘feature’. I love this monitor. I had 3 Vtech monitors before this one and I decided to try another brand once the third one broke again. It has simpler features and that’s likely why it works better.I find the picture quality to be fantastic. That’s comparing it to 3 Vtech monitors that pictures were awful. I can see everything clearly at night.Voz mode does become manual when the monitor is plugged in. The screen will din but if it detects noise and turns on you will have to turn it off manually, whereas if it’s not plugged in it would turn off on its own. This doesn’t bother me because the only time I have it charging is at night and it’s right beside me. I have it off the charger all day and it lasts.I really like that you can still hear noise in the baby’s room when the screen is dim. That’s new to meI use the white noise feature a lot and it’s wonderful. I don’t find it too loud because the camera is not beside the babies head. I had it ha gong on the wall so it needs to be loud enough for baby to hear it.Overall I’m really happy with this monitor. I’m so glad I decided to switch brands. This is way better than my last 3 Vtechs. If you are super picky I do t think you will find a monitor you like. Read more

The media could not be loaded.  Sound and picture quality is absolutely amazing and video is not choppy at all in day or night mode. Range and battery life are much better than the Vtech monitor we had before too. One camera we got doesn't go into night mode, but after a very quick call to Summer Infant we are getting a replacement in 7-10 days without any hassle! Read more

Honestly I’ve read reviews and researched so many monitors. I’ve bought and returned 4 monitors. I think through trial and error I’ve finally discovered a really well rounded video monitor for my family.Pros:All night battery lifeAmazing picture qualityGood sound feedbackNo lagGreat signal strength in our houseCons:a little pricer than other options out there, but still worth itThe screen on the parent until feels a little cheapAll around I’d recommend this non wifi monitor.
