Until a few weeks ago, I had a boob-obsessed 2.5 year old. Thanks to Sucker Buster, he is finally weaned!! I nursed one last time in the morning and then when I noticed he was looking to nurse again, I (secretly) rubbed some of the SB on each nipple and let him give it a try. His face said it all...this stuff smells pretty terrible so I can only imagine it tastes even worse. He tried the other boob and I’d say “oh no yucky” and make a gross face each time. He gave it another try about an hour later and same result. I never let him see me apply the SB because I wanted him to think my milk tasted like death naturally, not because of something I was putting on my skin. It also helped that I wrapped my chest with a thick, tight ACE bandage to keep my milk from refilling too much and to keep them out of his sight and mind. So every baby is different - but for me, this was a life saver. I nursed my 1st child until age 3 to the point of exhaustion, then with my 2nd, we were on the same tiring track at age 2.5. I knew I wanted to wean him but he was SOOO attached and reliant on the boob. I decided to give it a try. YES it smells like a skunk, but that's why it works, and a little goes a long way. I don't know if this works because I'm not going to use it. I hadn't paid attention to the ingredients before I bought it. It has neem oil in it which I wouldn't give to a baby or small child. It smells and tastes (I did taste it myself) like someone ate a bowl of broccoli and farted in my mouth. It also made my tongue numb for some time after and I only tasted the tiniest amount and caused me to feel nauseous, which was worrying. Im actually going to try to make my own deterrent balm for myself because I like the idea but I don't like the ingredients. Wish I hadn't wasted my money. I took A different approach, I dont Want to complete wean my two year old but her nursing was getting me exhausted she was waking up 3/4 times at night to nurse and nurse all day as well. She is a strong willed child so talking to her didn’t seem to help. And her tantrums for the restriction of the boob would last up to 30 min. So I came out here like every other desperate mom. I went From nursing her 8+ times a day to twice during the day and I do Apply it night so she drinks regular milk on a sipi cup to go to sleep (freaking miracle) and it has helped her sleep she only wakes up once or twice from 5am an on to nurse. She did cry for about two weeks but every night she would cry less. During the day she would not fuss she would simply smell my boob and say “moomy has poop in her boob” 😂 and she would move on about her day. Little by little I’ll completely wean her off. The smell is strong the taste even worse makes my daughter gag, but it does the job. She has to make sure it smells bad but when she does she won’t give me a hard time. If she doesn’t make sure it smells bad she’ll cry for 30+ min. So this has helped me plenty. Hope it helps any other mom and be prepared to get engorge. That’s why I did not do it all at once. And with Covid Im hesitant to completely wean but only time will tell. For now I’m able to have control of my own body again. Read more

All the other reviews said this product worked great even on their “determined to nurse” 2 yo. It didn’t seem to phase my 1 1/2 year old at all. I tried several different times using exactly as directed and had no success ... it didn’t deter him at all. Needless to say, waste of money. I had much better luck using Apple cider vinegar and a small spray bottle .... just spray on right before baby tries to nurse and it completely deters him. Read more

This is my husband and mine’s account so it is I that used this product. IT IS AMAZING!!!!! I would have paid double for this miracle worker. My daughter nursed for almost 3 years. She was obsessed. She never took a bottle, used a binky, had a blankie she loved, etc., so nursing was her everything and I honestly thought I would never see the day she wouldn’t ask for it. As her third birthday neared, I knew I had to do more to try and wean her. She still wasn’t sleeping through the night and I was just completely exhausted. I tried other things people suggested-distracting her, getting her a cup of milk, blah blah blah, but she still would not go to sleep without nursing. So I decided I would buy some drying tea, cabbage cream lotion and this thing I had just come across-sucker buster. I tried the tea, tried the lotion and then finally I tried this. I put on a small amount and it obviously doesn’t smell good but it’s not so bad that you’ll get sick, and my daughter had ONE taste and never nursed again. MIRACLE WORKER. She was a little confused of why it didn’t taste good and smelled but I told her it was because she was a big girl and didn’t need it anymore. I wanted this to work SO badly, especially because it was fairly expensive! But sadly it didn't work at all my 2 year old made a sour face and just kept going. I used it consistently for 4 days then gave up because I smelled terrible and my toddler still nursed ALL THE TIME!Finally I got my son to kick the boob the old fashioned way: I switched rooms, put on shirts that didn't have easy access and tucked them into my pants and refused to nurse.
