The shoe was really cute, and it was the right length, but it irritated my son's feet. I took the advice from other reviewers and had him wear them around the house with socks to try to break them in, but the first day he had a tiny blister on the top of his foot near where the foot bends. The second time, he wore them in the stroller and carrier with socks and they rubbed the back of his feet behind the ankle red. I think his feet are a little too chubby for these shoes to fit comfortably. He is 14 months and wears size 4. Had to return them unfortunately. Read more

These are great! I would say go for the higher size if you are in between. Both of my boys 2 and 4 are in their regular size, but they are fairly snug. With the straps, you can tighten them if need be. Read more

Gave my son horrible blisters... I was starting to think I bought a size too small, but I know that's not the case. He always complained about them being too tight to put on. I was hoping they sold these in wides, but they don't. I really like the concept of these shoes.. They actually work great for my 2 year old daughter. This is a must have toddler shoe! I love how these can get dirty and they are so easy to clean. It’s really nice that they are a water shoe as well! My daughter is between a size 8 and 9 and the 9 fits with a little room. I wish they made half sizes. The opening is a little narrow which is slightly annoying. If your kid is between sizes I would suggest going up to the next largest size. These are a repurchase and I would recommend them to family and friends. We also have native shoes which are cute but these SR shoes really stay on when in the water because of the strap. The native shoes lack the strap and super secure fit. Both are cute. I would say these are very similar to native shoes as far as material goes. The SR shoes are a little thicker material. We wear them both with and outside socks. Definitely buy these for your kid!! These are clearly handy being that they’re good for water or dry play and they’re affordable. But my husband and I could not get these on our toddler. She has a wide foot, but they also don’t open up easy. Many toddler shoes splay open nicely so their little foot can be put in. These do not. They hold the exact shape of the shoe and don’t budge. Combine that with the grippy material and there was no way we were getting her foot in there without a fight. Even with socks on.We ended up spending more on Keens and were happy we did. I love these shoes. I love that even when filty muddy, I take a scrub brush to them and they are new looking again. I love that she can splash through puddles and it is ok.ONLY con is that her feet are usually FILTHY after she takes them off.. but they are always filthy anyway, so I would rather she wash/scrub her feet in the tub each night and I still have a pair of shoes that look decent at the same time!these have held up great all summer now into the fall. no blisters, to complaints, this is the 2nd pair, as we had a pair last year and they were almost her everyday exclusive shoes.. occasionally she would wear flip flops, but often got blisters from them. Update: 3 to 5 stars. These shoes are work horses. They broke in and held up the entire summer. They are dirty now, but show hardly any wear - and they are rough boys. Buying again next summer. Hands down worth the price. Sandals and tennis shoes are terrible kid summer shoes for many reasons. These are a perfect compromise.Original review:These fit okay. these shoes are really great, with a few exceptions. Out of the box the sides of the shoe where the meet the tongue, are curled in slightly just from being in the box. It took a few hours of wearing them for them to take a more regular shape. (And a lot of convincing on my party to get my daughter where them long enough to get them to "break in") after she wore them for a few hours she said they were very comfy. She has had some trouble putting them on by herself bc the heel of he shoe has that mesh at the top and it gets folded down as she tries to put them on. If I had gotten her a size larger this probably wouldn't t happen but the size I got her actually fits her in length and width. There's a pull tab on the back but she can't get a good grip on it easily. She's 4.All in all the shoes are great. They get wet and muddy and clean right off and my daughter says they're comfortable. Love these shoes! They provide adequate traction on slippery surfaces, dry quickly and my toddler loves them. They are easy to put on too! I purchased two pair, one for my 1yr old and another for my 5yr old. They work at the park, beach and splash pads!!! Great job Stride Rite! Read more
