Buying the stoma guard was the best thing that could have happened to me, I've been struggling so much with everything from Clothing, to sleeping, to sitting, to being around my pets or children. If I knew the difference the stoma guard was going to make, I would have no doubt bought it since day one of getting my stoma. I can now wear close my size instead of oversized clothing, my seat belt no longer bothers me. I finally have full nights of sleep because I can sleep on my belly again. I wasn’t sure if I should get this at first, but after reading reviews I decided to. It’s totally worth the money!! I mainly purchased it because I wanted some protection from my seat belt, because the strap goes right over my stoma. It also gives me a lot of peace of mind when I play with the kids or pets. The only thing I don’t love is that it sticks out, and so it’s noticeable in some tight fitting clothes. It’s easy to take on and off though. I also like that the bottom of it is open so my stoma can drain into my pouching system properly even when I’m wearing compression underwear. It comes with a ton of Velcro, I’m only changing my pouch once or twice a week so I know that the Velcro strips will last me a long time. If you ever feel the need to protect your stoma from hits, bumps, or bangs then you need the product! I wear mine 24/7 cuz I share my home with many creatures that love to jump or lay on me and being a new ostomate, I fear the inevitable bag pop and leak. This calms those feelings and give me the peace of mind that my stoma (above all else) is safe.Tips on coloring it:. Sharpies work best. Other permanent markers either wiped off too easily or bled over the lines. I created a template on paper, drew the design, taped it in place and went back over the lines with the sharpie. The sharpie bled through the paper just enough to transfer faint lines of the design. If you mess up, you can literally scratch it off. You can also scratch out places as part of the design (see the word "factory" on mine as an example). Because it does scratch off, I sprayed a clear coat of Krylon to seal it. This too can scratch off, but it's much more difficult. Sanding might help the durability of the artwork, but I actually like that I have the ability to redecorate it if need be! Read more

I wish I had known about this product nine months ago when I had my procedure! For so long I was fearful of bumping into my stoma. I would cover that area with a folded towel when I had to put my seat belt on. I couldn't sleep well on that side. It has been a game changer!! I am no longer fearful of hitting that area and don't have to use a towel with my seat belt. The Velcro holds extremely well until I want to take it off. Don't be fearful of paying the price for this product, it is well worth it! You do have to allow for the extra space in your dress/casual pants. Read more

It is overpriced for what you get..a piece of plastic and some velcro pieces..but that normal anymore for anything medical I guess..This works great for protecting your stoma from light impact or seatbelt rubbing..be aware that the adhesive that sticks to the bag is very sticky so if you dont het the placement right the first time you'll probably have to use a new bag..as it will make a hole in the stoma bag trying to pull it off... otherwise nice product . I was hesitant to spend $60 for a piece of plastic. So glad I did. Easy to remove and reattach. Protects your stoma so nothing rubs against it. I am able to wear all my normal clothing and the seat belt in the car is not a problem with this. My only complaint is when changing and you need to put on a new velcro crescent it can be difficult to remove the backing to expose the adhesive. They need to do something to make it easier to remove. However I would highly recommend this product. Read more

I was apprehensive to spend so much money on a simple piece of hard plastic, but the piece of mind that it provides is well worth the money! I wear this stoma guard every day and no longer have to worry dogs, and cats, jumping up and injuring my stoma. This has also been an invaluable piece of my ostomy supplies that allows me to play with a rambunctious 4-year-old and know that I will not get hurt (at least my stoma will not!) I recently bought this because I lost a larger, bulkier, version of a Stoma shield. I needed something that would protect me when doing physical activities and getting a massage. I am always a bit sceptical when buying items that claim to solve a problem but can honestly say this product does everything as described. It's not uncomfortable, it's discreet and above all offers good protection.I had some issues with delivery but the seller was very quick to realise their mistake and dealt with it immediately. I almost returned this item because it wasn't really giving me the protection I needed. My stoma is barely an inch below my waistband and I was at my wit's end because I couldn't find any pants/slacks that I could wear. I had hoped the SG would work but unfortunately it was not comfortable. I think maybe my stoma sticks out too far.Until I received my Stoma Guard I was in the habit of burping my bag as a when needed. I now find the Stoma Guard works best when there is a some air in the bag to cushion the SG above my stoma. Read more
