Some people after being treated with certain antibiotics, have great difficulty restoring balanced flora. This product breaks down carbs and releases lactic acid, which helps correct the PH in the intestines so that so that the bacteria can repopulate. This was prescribed for me decades ago by a Chiropractor who advised me to eat yogurt or kefir daily while using the product. The product does what it is intended to do, I only needed one per day for a few days to reset my system along with probiotics. It has helped tremendously with gut bacteria imbalance and Candida overgrowth. Will definitely keep this on hand when I need it.The taste isn’t great, it’s a bland wafer that if sucked on will soften, (the taste is stronger once it’s chewed) so if you wait you can bite it then swallow the soft pieces with a gulp of water. The taste isn’t too bad and you get used to it. But it really does work if milk/cheese effects you. I think it has even helped me be able to process milk/cheese again without even needing to take it. Read more
Lactic Acid Yeast was recommended for my Boston Terrier, who was occasionally having digestion issues. Adding Lactic Acid Yeast to his food twice a day has cut these occurrences by more than half. I'm NOT SURE this product is A GENUINE Standard Process product. I've been taking these wafers for a while now and the ones I got off Amazon (strictly for convenience) DO NOT taste the same. The lot number on all the other bottles I've gotten from my chiropractor have been the same. I noticed the lot # on the Amazon bottle is different. I returned them. I'm giving it a second chance to see if it was just a fluke. But I will return for an update! I believe in the Brand, and wish people would be honest. Read more
I read about this product in a physician's article on leaky gut. The doctor recommended taking this product for 10 days to heal the gut heal and to improve digestion. My digestion improved and I experience fewer symptoms from consuming foods that I'm sensitive to. Read more
