St. Ives Renewing Collagen & Elastin Moisturizer is infused with hardworking collagen and elastin, for a hydrating formula that promotes a youthful glow. Give your skin a daily moisture boost with this facial moisturizer. Made with collagen, elastin and safflower oil, it's safe to use morning and night for smooth, hydrated skin. Now it's easier than ever to nourish your skin with the goodness of 100% natural moisturizers. A lesser known relative of the sunflower, the safflower is a plant with red, yellow and orange flowers. But you shouldn't be deceived by its prickly looking exterior; the plant's oil is known to help to smooth and moisturize skin. Our safflowers come from all over the world, including such countries as Australia and Argentina. The flowers we use are carefully picked and then put through a process which consists of soaking and refining to extract the oil, which is a 100% pure and natural moisturizer too. Youthful skin is always in! This face moisturizer helps renew skin for a beautiful, healthy glow. Collagen and elastin proteins are naturally present in healthy skin. Our nourishing face moisturizer helps you support your body's natural production of these building blocks. To use, apply paraben free face lotion to face and neck, morning and evening — and give your skin the TLC it deserves.

I have been using the St Ives collagen and elastin- off and on- for more years than I care to remember. They may have reformulated it over the years but I never noticed. This time, this they changed the formula ( in a purple container and called Timeless Skin to an inferior product in a blue container called Renewing). The original Timeless Skin was a nice product with a smooth, non-greasy texture at a very affordable price. Unilever changed the product in very significant and inferior way, they have bought out many good "natural" or "organic" companies and have done the same thing. The preservative Phenoxyethanol, a formaldehyde-releasing preservative, is limited to use in Japan at 1%. It used to be the last ingredient before fragrance and now it is towards the top.. Being the 6th ingredient is is very worrisome and potentially dangerous, meaning there is much more phenoxyethanol than any beneficial ingredients. In fact, collagen and elastin are now the last ingredients, there is even more fragrance in the new and unimproved product than collagen and elastin, the last ingredients. The number of ingredients have stayed the same, but all of the beneficial ingredients (sunflower seed oil, collagen and elastin) have been made insignificant compared to the cheap and potentially harmful preservative and fillers that are way too high on the list. The texture is similar, but does not have the bulk of the previous formulation, because collagen and elastin give creams bulk and there is barely any in this cream. It also has a much stronger smell, because again, there is more fragrance than active ingredients.Timeless Skin (Collagen and Elastin)Ingredients: Water, Mineral Oil, Propylene Glycol, Glyceryl Stearate, PEG-100 Stearate, Stearic Acid, Carthamus Tinctorius (Safflower) Seed Oil, Hydrolyzed Collagen, Hydrolyzed Elastin, Triethanolamine, Carbomer, Cetyl Alcohol, Dimethicone, Disodium EDTA, Ethylhexylglycerin, Phenoxyethanol, Fragrance, Cathamus TinctoriousNew and Unimproved Renewal (Collagen and Elastin) Note:the official St Ives site even misrepresents their ingredient! (Shady)The ingredients on the container are:Water(Aqua), Mineral Oil, Propylene Glycol, Glycerl Stearate, PEG-100 Stearate, Phenoxyethanol, Stearic Acid, Carthamus Tinctorius (Safflower Seed Oil), Triethanolamine, Carbomer, Cetyl Alcohol, Dimethicone Disodium EDTA, Fragrance (Parfum), Ethylhexylglycerin, Hydrolyzed Collagen, Hydrolyzed Elastin. The supposedly up-to-date (false) ingredients from the official St.Ives Site:Water (Aqua, Eau), Mineral Oil (Paraffinum Liquidum, Huile Minerale), Propylene Glycol, Glyceryl Stearate, PEG-100 Stearate, Stearic Acid, Phenoxyethanol, Carthamus Tinctorius (Safflower) Seed Oil, Triethanolamine, Carbomer, Cetyl Alcohol, Dimethicone, Disodium EDTA, Fragrance (Parfum), Ethylhexylglycerin, Hydrolyzed Collagen, Hydrolyzed Elastin, Linalool, Hexyl Cinnamal, Coumarin, Geraniol.Interestingly enough when looking for the ingredients for the Timeless C& E, I found several versions that were much superior than the most recent, Collagen/Elastin being some of the first ingredients instead of dead last as it is now.Water (Eau/Aqua), Geraniol, Coumarin, Hydrolyzed Collagen, Hydrolyzed Elastin, Hexylcinnamel, Linalool, Glycerin, Ethylhexl Glycerin, Parfum (Fragrance), Disodium EDTA, Cetyl Alcohol, Dimethicone, Carbomer, Triethanolamine, CarthamusTinctorius Seed Oil (Safflower), Phenoxyethanol, Stearic Acid, Glyceril Stearate, Propylene Glycol, PEG-100 Stearate, Mineral Oil.This is the formulation that I loved so many years ago. St. Ives (as well as many other "natural" or "organic" skin/haircare companies- Nature's Gate which used to make fantastic products comes to mind- sold out to Unilever and their previously mostly natural and safe products became junk, filled with cheap and potentially dangerous. Many of these companies who did not test on animals, now do under Unilever. Read more

I would have paid more to keep old ingredients. If ingredients change and name changes it is not the same product.St Ives thinks it's the same so they didn't change their UPC.The good ingredients are now at the end of list. And a bad one now is 7th not 17th anymore.I reordered this product thinking it was the same it is not. Here is a little info on 1 of those toxic ingredients that i mentioned.Amazon refunded my $ after talking to a supervisor the first rep wanted to only give me $5 back when i paid $5.44.This is just one eye opener of how these companies are trying to kill us.And think we are stupid and think of profits.Like i said i would have paid more .PhenoxyethanolPhenoxyethanol is a common personal care preservative. It is an effective bactericide and has recently been widely used to replace parabens, especially in natural products. Phenoxyethanol has been found to be toxic to the body even in small doses. In order to create it, the known skin carcinogen, ethylene oxide is combined with a phenol (a chemical compound which is also considered a carcinogen). The process of creating phenoxyethanol may (depending on each manufacturer’s production methods) produce the dangerous by- product called 1,4 dioxane. The EPA has established 1,4 dioxane is a probable human carcinogen. The FDA describes it as being able to depress the nervous system and may cause vomiting and diarrhea. The product’s Material Safety Data Sheet says that it is harmful if inhaled or swallowed or absorbed through the skin and that it can cause reproductive damage. The Chemical Toxicity Database lists that phenoxyethanol may cause central nervous system depression, kidney damage, skin irritation, headaches, dizziness, nausea and drowsiness. If inhaled it may cause respiratory and digestive tract irritation. Japan has banned the use of it in all cosmetics. Read more

OK. I'm not sure how to rate this review because my original purchase was the older (purple) packaging that said timeless skin. **5+stars** This formula was by far THE BEST moisturizer I've ever used and quickly went through the tub, as I used it daily. I immediately bought it for my mom. I have extremely dry sensitive skin and that moisturizer changed my skin completely. It went on so well, soaked into the skin, didn't turn flaky, didn't mix negatively with my makeup, didn't re-dry out my skin and make the skin feel soft and smooth afterward.NOW, this formula in the blue packaging is totally different. It goes on differently, doesn't feel hydrating and now when I put on the same make-up products I used with the previous formula, it immediately flakes and makes my makeup look cakey. I'm honestly really bummed out that I can't readily buy the old formula. I'm so disappointed. Read more

I though I was buying the same product that I have used for 30 years. However the ingredients are now such that the most important one, collagen, is now last. Fragrance is way before this, it use to be the last ingredient. geezz.I saw one ad for this that made you think they were just changing the look but said nothing about changing the ingredients, it is terrible. I could tell something was very different the first time I used this and that is when I compared the ingredient and became very disappointed. I will start looking for a new product to use. Read more

This is not just a "new look" product. The formulation is different (the expensive components are now in lower amounts, and it is no longer made in U.S.A. Read more

I really dislike that the formula has changed on the St Ives. To me, Renewing seems to mean Grease. I wish they would bring back the old formula that I used for several years and loved. I ordered the old formula, the picture was of the old formula, but has since changed as they no longer carry it. I am sorry that I purchased 3 of these as they are non returnable. I will probably throw them away or give to a homeless shelter. I think I am done with St Ives. Read more

I used to use this product a few decades ago, and then stopped being able to find it. When I found it here, I bought three of these pots, just in case I can't find it again for awhile. It's an excellent cream. It doesn't take much, so start with just touching your finger to the top of the cream and working it into your face until you get a handle on how much you need. A little does go a long way, and it soaks in fairly quickly. In the morning, after it's set, I put on my foundation, and my skin looks nice. At night, I use slightly more for a good soak-in over night. This cream is absolutely wonderful! I have very dry skin, so I need a really good moisturiser, and this is the best one I've ever used. First time I have bought this product. Very reasonable price for a larger than usual jar for facial moisturiser. I am 76 with rather dry skin and over the years have tried an unbelievable number of different moisturisers at differing price levels and this one definitely holds its own with the best of them. Very easily absorbed into the skin, although I find I tend to use a slightly larger amount with each application than with some other products. So far have only been using this during the summer months and will be interested to see how it copes with winter’s combination of central heating and outdoor harsh weather. If necessary will update review. Read more

Only giving one star for now as only received this yesterday. I cannot fault supplier with delivery service, however, is this product the real deal? When opened, the tub had no seal. It seemed rather gloppy and runny for a quality face cream. It looks as if water was added to it. Very strange consistency. Not happy that I spent a £10 on this. Should have stuck with Olay! I was so excited to get this based on the reviews but I'm now terribly disappointed. Yeah, the cream sort of has a fresh smell to it in the pot but once applied, if I smell my hands I don't like it at all, it has a weird chemical ooze. I have combination skin and it makes my face look greasy yet it's not moisturising enough, I feel the need to reapply a second layer as it does sink into the skin quickly ( probably the only good thing about it along with the size of the pot). I don't get flakey skin as I used to but my skin still feels tight, especially around my mouth. Also, I noticed that my very fine forehead lines are getting deeper which really concerns me. As to the skin feeling plumper, with better elasticity, nope, it makes no difference and I've been using it twice a day for a few weeks now. Read more

This cream works wonders, as someone with very dry skin I can honestly say this is the only moisturiser that stops my dry skin from flaking and a little goes a long way so a big tub like this will last a very long time, as to its anti aging properties There’s a noticeable improvement in my fine lines especially around my eyes and forehead.
