This is hair DYE. It will dye everything it touches. If you don't want your hair DYE to dye things don't buy hair DYE. That being said, it doesn't hurt to keep bleach, magic erasers, and scrubbing bubbles around for your bathroom if you tend to be a bit messy with it. The $5 you'll spend on those things is still going to save you a lot more than going to an actual salon to get your hair dyed. Also black towels and pillow cases solve all the after rinse bleeding problems.Be super careful with the bleach. Make sure it is 100% washed out before doing anything else. I made the mistake of not being careful and it did damage my hair. However, that was my own fault, not the product's fault. I managed to repair it with a few products I have for that exact reason. I recommend that you bleach your hair a few days before you need to dye it and make sure you wash it suuuper well and use the best conditioner you have in those days. I use Aussie 3 minute miracle moist and it helps keep my hair from becoming a nightmare in between dyes. Other brands of rescue or repair products will also be fine.I have used Splat for years. If you use it properly and follow the directions perfectly you'll have great results. This is chemistry, chemicals do not play around, if you mess it up you will have problems. I have dreads and wash my hair about once a week. This color has signifiocantly faded about 2 months later, but I saved what I didn't use for touch ups. When it's first done it is really brilliant and great.The only setbacks are how quickly it fades, which is sort of to be expected with temporary color. And the fact that if it's at all wet it will transfer to other fabrics, which is also kind of to be expected.Love splat color and have used them many times! Read more

What can I say I am a SPLAT HEAD! This kit has everything in it that you will need. I do suggest leaving the bleach on for at least 45 minutes if you have thicker hair. Mine is thick and grey and at 45 minutes it is completely white. Do make sure you wash you hair good when removing the bleach and make sure that your hair is good and dry to prevent streaking. When coloring don't skimp on the Vaseline. Forehead, ears, cheeks and the back of your neck, slather it on good it will make your life a lot easier when you go to color and remove.This is a VERY vibrant orange that looks awesome. I've been dying my hair for years now, mostly using Manic Panic, but I couldn't get my hands on orange Manic Panic, so I ordered this. I dyed my hair in April, with a root touch up in May, and it is now September and the color has not faded at all from what I can tell. I was even on TV and the color popped so much on screen.I'm actually a little upset that it's lasted so long, currently, because I want to dye my hair purple or lime green now, but I don't want to bleach hair. But hey, that's better than having to go the whole summer re-dying my hair every other week or so. I love the color, in fact, the first week when I dyed my hair, I ordered three more boxes of this because I thought it would fade and I would have to fix it - but I haven't used them yet.This is a great color, and it lasts... (which is not something I would say of all Splat dyes, but this one really sticks.) There is no fading, AND no bleeding in the shower (when the color runs from your hair and -often- stains the shower). I died my hair back in August for halloween at my work. I followed instructions correctly.Its October now and my hair still has orange in it. ve showered twice a da, every day all August into September just to get the colour out. Ive bought purple shampoo for my hair to try and strip the orange out and Ive googled "how to get semipermanent hair die out of blond hair".
