EDIT: 6/30/18I used to back all of Daves products 100% but I have to be honest here...things have changed. Fiberlyze has changed, it's not as effective and now I've noticed isolyze has changed. It doesn't mix as well as it used to and it's starting to upset my stomach. I cannot recommend this or any species product anymore sadly.My review is for the chocolate milk flavor...I add that note because other flavors, cookies and cream for example, doesn't mix as well. So be aware different flavors may not act the way chocolate milk does.That said, This is the best protein I have ever used period...I have used every high end protein available....Iso 100, pesto pro, etc. I just recently switched from iso 100 to isolyze. So the first thing i notice, mixability...isolyze just mixes better. I eat a lot of greek yogurt and I usually flavor 300g greek yogurt with a scoop of protein. When I added the idolize for the first time, it didn't clump, it just mixed into the yogurt so easily. With iso 100 I would get clumps and I'd have to add a bit of water to get it mixed. That there tells me idolize is just more pure...less fillers like xantham gum, etc. Same when mixed with water, just so smooth and the flavor is not overpowering....also very smooth.If you want the best protein powder out there, in my 12 years experience taking supplements, this is one of the best. I actually hate being the brand loyal guy...I feel like sometimes people buy into some idea like a freakin cult without legitimate reasons....just because they're the best. I do not feel that way....these product are literally the best I've used, thats why I'm loyal to species. If they ever cut corners and change their production, ill be the first one to call them out and stop using the product. As of now though, they are the best. I think nordic naturals makes abetter fish oil but other than that, can't go wrong here. Read more

If you don't mind your protein shake being damn near flavorless and almost too thick to suck through a straw, then Isolyze is for you. Does it have proprietary nitro spec filtration technology, deliver 27 grams of protein, fortified with whey hydrosolate peptides and digestive enzyme complex? Is it fat free, gluten free and ultra pure protein? I guess so. It does say all that on the label. But does it taste like I'm drinking a loafer? Why, yes...yes it does.I ordered the Cinnamon Donut flavor which neither tastes like cinnamon, nor a donut. I actually added cinnamon and vanilla to it to try and get some sort of flavor happening, which worked a bit...BUT, I always use unsweetened cashew milk in all of my protein shakes, and the end result with Isolyze is a consistency which is absolutely awful. Of course I want all the benefit of a great protein blend, but it has to at least be palatable...preferably delicious, even. So, bottom line....if you like great tasting protein shakes that remind you of a creamy milkshake, DO NOT buy this! IMHO, the best tasting protein, with the best consistency, that I've had so far is PEScience....just about every flavor is on point! Read more

I’ve always used this brand and I love it except this time when I opened the container it looked and smelled a little odd. The powder was clumpy and the smell was a bit rancid. I went ahead and made the shake anyway thinking it was just me. Nope. It tasted sour and I had to throw it away. By the time I opened the container it was past the time allowed for returns. I didn’t open the container right away as I had another one to finish first. Now I feel it was wasted money since I’ll have to throw away the whole container. Don’t get me wrong, if you’re looking for a great protein shake, this is the one. Just wish I could have exchanged it for another one that wasn’t spoiled although with the expiration date it had, it shouldn’t have been. Read more

I've been using Isolyze for a couple years now, and I speak specifically for the Peanut Butter Chocolate flavor. With 15 purchases on this listing and a few others elsewhere, something in the product was surely changed somewhere along the line, and for the worse.The flavor became, what I would consider, bad. Along with the negatively affected taste, mixability became less consistent. With any product you'll get a scoop here or there that clumps, but this became noticeably more regular once the flavor changed. I initially chalked it up as being a bad tub the first time, and falsely confirming this thought the next tub I bought was of the original, desirable profile - every tub after this has been of the undesirable profile.I can only hope it's been due to a pandemic-related dent in the supply chain that will eventually be rectified. I miss looking forward to my daily helpings, as they've been more of a chore than a pleasure for many months now. Read more

Very, very, clean protein. I've tried alot of different brands and Species is top quality. You pay a little more, but it's a higher quality. 27.5 gms of protein per serving is higher than all other's I've tried. This mixes easily, as the miconizing makes the powder extremely fine, almost like "talc". No grittiness whatsoever. Taste is very good, but not exceptional. I have no issue's drinking it. I use MTS Nutrition Whey protein too, and as far as taste, it is the best tasting protein powder I've used. However, it's not as clean and does contain a small amount of "high fructose corn syrup", something that in my opinion, should NEVER be in a healthy supplement. Species Whey does NOT contain any high fructose corn syrup or any other negative ingredients. It does contain "sucralose", as does almost every other protein supplement, for sweetener.
