I really had high hopes for this product and my 4c hair. I had another hair gel that I thought was comparable to this and I was completely wrong. It did help slick my hair into a pony tail but somewhere within 1 hour I was frizzy a French poodle. I tried to use as an edge control when I wore my hair in two braids for my intense workouts and as a Chef. It didn't hold no matter what. I hate I bought 2 jars. I am not able to give it away so I will be stuck trying to use it up as quickly as humanly possible to get rid of it. No matter what I tired this product just did not work for me as well as I really wanted to. I have a very active lifestyle and the last thing I need is for my hair to be doing its own thing. It smelled really great and did not have a sticky residue or leave my hair cakey as some products will and it washed completely away without leaving my hair feeling like I had a major buildup in it. A little goes a long way. My hair felt incredibly soft and light after application. It wasn’t gunky at all. Not sure if I’ll still be able to wrap my hair at night. I’ll update later.... but my hair feels so smooth and soft. My wrap came off at night and I sweated some of my 4a/3c hair out... this jam helped lay and smooth my silk press into a sleek pony.Note: used a separate product on edges.Updated: I was able to wrap my hair that same night and took my wrap down in the morning. I'm a licensed Cosmetologist and have been using eco gel and dax grease for my braid styles for years. Saw this on someone's youtube and decided to give it a try. It is the absolute worst if you are primarily a braider. The style is beautiful once first completed but after a few days their hair starts to slip and freeze so bad. Do not waste your time or your money. Cause you will definitely be disappointed purchasing this. I have had to restyle 3 clients so far - $550 and 12 hours total wasted - restyling clients hair - I guess that's what I get for trying a new product. SMDH. This did nothing for laying down edges for thin/medium Type 4 edges but works great for weighing down and molding my thick type 4 hair. I use this when I want to braid my hair neater and less frizzy. I like the scent which is not strong and gives me no headache. The gel is medium consistency and the color becomes invisible for black hair. It is not extra hold for laying down edges but extra hold for my hair to be smoother for braiding. Also it works for defining coils and curls. I am a black female,and my hair is permed for reference. I understand everyone has different hair,however, this is the ONLY gel I have tried that actually layer my hair DOWNNN lol. I can't even deny how obsessed I am with this. I went into Walmart and by being lazy,I got a cheap gel around $3,it didn't work as I wanted it to,I literally tossed it away after trying to FORCE myself to apply it to my hair any longer. It smells fine and holds hair good but makes the hair too thick and sticky that it becomes prone to dirt/dust.My wife wanted me to buy gel to try hair style on me during this lockdown. It shines no dought but, wait until u walk under the hot Sun and see it sliding from ur hair on to ur neck and face...It may be good for a relaxed hair though, because of it shine, little goes a long way.
