This comes ready assembled and frankly is perfect for anyone recovering from an operation and needing to build up strength or someone who does work out but still wants to keep arms or legs active when sitting at home.The tension is not high at all in fact its pretty low even on its highest so someone who does have weak legs will find no problem with this. It folds up so is easy to put away and doesn't take up much room. The pedals are reasonably comfortable and I find the best thing to do is to put this against something like another chair or something of weight to support it as it does wobble same with doing your arms.One downside I would have to point out is it heats up pretty fast and very hot. This is reasonable quality for the price but has a couple of serious problems. Firstly the digital counter doesn't tally with my fitness tracker's assessment of the calories burnt - my tracker is reasonably accurate but this overestimated by about five times. Secondly, if you use it for more than a couple of minutes at once, especially with the resistance turned up, the pedal cranks and pedals get really hot. I just lifted mine to fold it after use and burnt my wrist on a crank.Edit: the seller sold my address to a bunch of mail order companies and I have had a whole string of unsolicited paper post from them and associates ever since (9 months now). They removed me from their own mailing list on request but they don’t even know who they sold the address to (without permission) so I’m having to contact every company separately directly to try and stop this happening - so they don’t comply with data protection rules. (Wife writing on hubby's account)I bought this because I have a health condition meaning I have a lot of fatigue. Consequently I'm on the couch a lot of the day. I was getting worried about circulation in my legs and needed a very gentle way to get some exercise so I had a look at these little floor peddle machines. I didn't want to spend a lot, I wanted a functional but no frills version and found this one. It's a great little bit of kit and does the job just what I wanted. It folds fairly small so can be kept down by the side of couch out of the way. To use, simply pull the legs out until they click into place and start peddling. There is a twisty knob to apply more resistance or you can just leave it fairly open to just peddle without any resistance. There is a digital display which records the time and number of steps, or you can change the readings using the red button to show calories burned. You will need to reset this everytime you use it to get fresh readings otherwise it picks up where it left off from last time. To reset just push and hold the red button for a couple of seconds. When finished to fold back up you will need to pull out little pins with the pully ring and bend the legs. It's a really simple bit of kit. I find it quite sturdy to use and I don't find that it gets too hot after use. It does heat up where it passes the resistance bit in the middle, and the more resistance you have the more it will heat up over time. But as I need it for gentle movement of the legs I don't find it gets bad at all. Obviously you don't want this to for any serious kind of work out, so I find it great for a bit of gentle leg movement whilst sitting on the couch. It was delivered fully assembled and folded. All I had to do was get the resistance knob screw thing (what IS it called?) out of a separate little bag and twist it into place. Then you unfold the legs and are good to go.
