Love the Smile Direct whitening pens with accelerator light, easy to use and effective. As a coffee drinker it's nice to havea way to get rid of the dull and brown tinged teeth. Not as ridiculously expensive as other whitening systems but takes much longer than they claim. Unless you have super sensitive teeth and gums, forget this “5-minutes-twice-a-day” nonsense. You’ll never get your teeth white, and you’ll have to buy more gel again soon. I’m sure the makers designed it that way.I don’t smoke or drink much coffee and/or dark beverages but have stains that come along with age, and those are harder to get rid of.I started with the recommended schedule but after a few weeks started whitening 15 minutes at a time, twice a day. (Note this review is for the gel pens only. You have to purchase the LED thing separately.)I have used Crest Whitestrips for years, about 2 times a year, and have had great results. In comparison with this SmileDirect Club whitening system, using the LED light with it, Crest may have a slight edge in more faster noticeable results in that you can see Crest Whitestips whitening sooner than with SmileDirect.SmileDirect, however, is the cheaper whitening whitening system once you have the LED light thing and only need these refills. SmileDirect is quicker to use: 2x a day for 5 minutes and then after you spit out the foamy residue, you wait another 20 minutes before you rinse your mouth (but there's not a bad taste or anything at all while you wait), for 7-8 days. Crest is 30 minutes of having the strips on your teeth, 2x a day, for 12-14 days. I also have had no gum or tooth irritation or sensitivity with SmileDirect; something I can't always say about Crest Whitestrips as the strips sometimes do make my teeth sensitive--perhaps it is stronger, or simply because the solution is on my teeth for longer.Note that I already have white teeth to begin with that need occasional brightening. I use this for coffee stains, mostly, as well as for berries, and the very occasional glass of red wine that might stain my teeth. So, that makes the SmileDirect system the better buy for me.The big standout is the lip balm--I love this stuff! I'd buy that separately if it's available. Read more

I can’t say for sure that I notice any results yet. Maybe it is super slow acting? I CAN say with certainty that I have absolutely no tooth sensitivity though! I always do. My sister used this gel and had good results, so I was excited to give them a try. I think her luck came from starting with pretty white teeth. I have moderately coffee-stained teeth, and neither I or my husband noticed a significant difference after the week of using this. I even used it along with the light (which my sister had an extra of), and didn't notice any acceleration of whitening. If you're starting with teeth that are pretty white to begin with, these may work for you. I've had better success with whitening strips. Read more

It is a bit awkward to try and keep your lips off of your teeth so I think I may buy the kit with the blue light to make it easier. I have bleached my teeth by a dentist years ago and this is a fraction of the cost. Read more
