The media could not be loaded. Our tummy time hating 6 month old is still on the fence about it but my wife and I love it. It would be kinda cool if there LEDs in the transparent part that lit up, but I suppose you can only ask so much of your beat boxing beets. Read more
If my child could speak.. "so mommy got me this avocado toy, it makes sounds and creepily smiles at me all the time.. did I mention how good it taste? Mm yes, it is very tasty, everytime I take a bite, the avocado makes music, it is totally rad! Then i use my tiny fingers to move the pit of the avocado and it makes stringy sounds with more music.. wow mom, I thought my bouncer was awesome but now I have the best of both worlds! Thank you creepy avocado for coming into my life but can you stop smiling at me like that? Okay, now I'm going to bite you again! Yum, yum, yum.." -Baby E Read more
I thought that this looked cute online. I wasn’t really sure what to expect because there weren’t any reviews. I took a chance and ordered it for my 3 month old hoping to encourage tummy time (even though the product is recommended for 6 months+). When the beet rolls it makes “beat boxing” music, and it also has beads in it for extra noise. When I opened it.. I thought it was just OK. My husband sat on the floor with the baby between his legs and I rolled the beat towards her. We got the first and biggest belly laughs from her! It was so cute! Read more
The media could not be loaded. My 2 year old daughter hasn't put her "cado guitar" down for hours! She knew exactly what the toy was supposed to be, her daddy is a musician and she sees plenty of guitars and musical instruments that are too expensive for her to play with. Now she can rock out with daddy anytime! My 5 month old son was very drawn to the music and flashing lights as well. This is a very cute and unique toy from skiphop, very happy with my purchase! The size of the beet is great, and the sound (which is motion triggered) is good for encouraging baby to engage. The shape is also works well for getting baby to crawl since it wobbles in odd directions away from them, but still within reasonable reach. My baby also enjoys gumming the leaf part while teething. I just wish it maybe had a light or two in addition to the beatboxing noise to help keep my baby more interested.I also bought the watermelon drum at a later date, but it won’t let me leave a separate review. Within an hour of my baby playing with it, she pinched her finger badly when the two sides came together. I also tried to rinse it off quickly before giving it to her, and because there are small holes on the bottom, water got inside and won’t come back out. The drum doesn’t actually make any noise at all either, which I guess can be good depending on your point of view, but not much fun for baby. I wish it had a little more give or was made of a different material to at least make some fun noise. I wouldn’t recommend the drum at all. Read more
Super cute! The buttons on the neck all press and make noise. The little pit/roller ball rolls smoothly. Yes, it’s a bit louder than one would like, but easy fix. I put gaffer tape over the sound holes to damper the volume, but duct tape would also work super well (anything little hands can’t pry off). I put on a layer, listened to the volume, added another layer, etc. until it was reasonable. After three layers, perfect! Happy with the purchase. Read more
For teething this toy isn’t the one you’re looking for. My baby likes to chew on the leaf part and roll it around on the floor. I was iffy about this toy at first, but my 8 months old really enjoys it. Plays music when it is moved and stops when it’s standing still. Keeps my baby moving. There is no volume adjustment so if it’s too loud or not loud enough for your preference, then you’re stuck. Read more
This thing is a lifesaver for a baby who likes to kick. It beat boxes and rattles on impact so our little one can have control over the noises. It's very entertaining for everyone when he is fussy. Highly recommend! Read more
This item is beautiful looking but it is poorly designed for functionality. The drums are very light so it doesn't hold steady when child drums. When my 8 month old hits it, the toy just falls to the side. The "seeds" inside do not really move when the drums are hit so it defeats the "cause and effect" purpose.Interesting idea for a toy but poorly designed for functionality. I am going to attempt to return it. I am very disappointed with it as I normally like Skip Hop items. I warn anyone thinking of buying this- you will be wasting your money. Read more
Got this for my baby to encourage kicking while he was on his back under an activity gym. He is now 4 months old and still likes to kick it while on his back or tummy. He also likes swatting it with his hands and feeling the fabric leaves in contrast to the hard plastic beet. The on/off switch makes this toy less annoying because our baby can hear the soft rattle. Hopefully the toy is built to last once my baby can learn to throw it or kick it really hard, otherwise it has been worth the purchase. I give 4 stars for durability because the green leafy fabric is already getting loose and can potentially be a hazard - but my baby is always supervised while playing with this toy. Read more
Purchased for our 10-month-old, who quickly got the hang of pushing the buttons and spinning the 'pit' to play the music. She does a little dance to the honky-tonk riffs. It makes me smile, but there isn't much variety to the sounds and there is only one volume level: loud. I'm surprised that Skip Hop didn't add a volume control to the toy. I choose to restrict how long my baby plays with it, as I'm concerned about prolonged exposure to loud toys. An adult shouldn't need to raise their voice to be able to speak to someone over the sound of a baby's toy. Read more
Purchased for my 6 month old and normally I love Skip Hop products, but am a bit disappointed with this one. As cute as it is, it doesn't do much. Just 3 buttons that play music and the pit spins. That's it. It's also super loud with no volume control. At least he likes to chew on it. Read more
Okay. My daughter LOVES this toy. I swore I would never have toys that make noise, but the music that this little guitar makes is actually pretty catchy and not annoying! It lights up as it plays its bluesy tunes. There is no volume control but the volume isnt too loud as is. It's just adorable and a fun way to get your baby excited about music. Read more
