I have never been diagnosed with athlete's foot; I have just always had extremely dry feet, with deep fissure cracks. My heels were always split and peeling. Gross! To try to remedy this, I have routinely used a vigourous pumice stone rub, and expensive foot cream, only to see my feet look great for 2 days, but then get drier. I even bought a 6-pack of moisture-retaining "spa socks" to use afterward, but my feet got worse and worse! This year, I developed disgusting blisters all over the bottom of my feet. I decided that maybe I had some sort of infection, so I bought Silka at Walmart; I paid about $15 for a tube.I stopped the hard scrubbing with the pumice, socks, and just used Silka 2 times per day. My feet were better in a matter of days, so I ordered another tube from Amazon because it is a little less expensive. I've been through 2 tubes over the past month, and my feet are normal! The only problem is, Silka only comes in 1 oz tubes. I need a 55 gallon drum! It is expensive, since 1 oz lasts me about 2-3 weeks. I hope the maker will offer larger size tubes at a lesser cost. I am former military, and came out of my time with the Navy and Marines with standard issue jungle rot on my feet. For over 20 years I have tried to get rid of the athlete's foot and nothing ever worked. I would heal for a while and it would come right back. For the past five years my left has been painfully itchy and covered in teeny tiny blisters, progressing from just two toes to the entire foot. I cannot give a more ringing endorsement of this stuff and I can't believe it's available without a prescription based on how effective it is. I have had varying diagnoses of what was wrong with my foot-- from an allergy to eczema to athletes' foot to any mix of the three and have tried ALL of the over the counter athletes' foot creams, powders, sprays, a couple of prescription ones, lotions, changing soap, changing laundry detergent and bathroom cleaning products, prescription steroidal creams-- you name it. I am still not sure what was wrong, but what I can say is that after using this product ONCE my foot was drastically improved in terms of blisters and scaling of the skin. After the SECOND use, my foot is practically perfect. I tend to exaggerate, but holy crap-- I am not exaggerating here at all. This stuff is a true miracle product for me. I made an appointment for a new dermatologist when I moved and by the time the appointment came around, I had nothing to show her. Just a skin cancer screening (all good, thank God!) and advice to keep wearing sunscreen.
