I'm using a LOT of silicone strips now that I'm about three weeks post surgery. Three long scars and several smaller ones as well as some lingering Morpheus8 marks. The long incisions have surgeon-provided silicone gel from a tube on them and are covered by a waterproof tape, but the smaller marks and Morpheus marks aren't covered at all now and I got the greenlight to start with silicone strips.These come in one long roll as shown, but you can easily pull/tear off at the perforations about every two inches. (If you want the strip longer that works as well, or you can cut it to length with scissors.) It easily peels from its backing and isn't hard to free from itself it it accidentally gets a little tangled up during application. The tape lies flat and is repositionable.I think how well it sticks is largely a factor of how clean and dry the skin is to start with. If it's really clean, the strips stick quickly and well. I'm wearing them under compression garments, so after a few hours of being pressed against me they're really stuck; those strips aren't going anywhere until I decide to remove them! (And the do mostly stay on during a shower, too, as long as I don't forget and accidentally rub one off.)When I do remove them, I can (technically) wash them, let air dry, and then reuse them. However, these strips aren't as thick as some of the more expensive ones I've had and they don't wash and recover as well. Maybe you can get a second wear out of them, but it won't be as long as the first time.I did gradually work up to 24-hour wear, but had no adverse skin reactions along the way. Too soon to tell if they're working, but I do feel like they help keep the incision areas moisturized and flatter.As mentioned, these aren't the thickest silicone strips on the market, but I don't think that matters much. They're easy enough to work with, the perforations are handy, and the price is good. I'd get these again. Read more
