My doctor suggested that I start wearing compression socks. It took about 30 seconds for me to realize that “donning” and “doffing” compression socks is not a joyride. In fact, it’s process that can reasonably called miserable, especially if you’ve lost strength in your arms. For most, some kind of assistive device will be a necessity. And to make using whatever device you choose a little easier, you’ll need gloves similar to these. You can also use gloves generally used for gardening. These are less expensive than the Sigvaris product reviewed here. I decided to go with the Sigvaris primarily because of their expertise in the area. I don’t think this is a bad choice. The gloves are well made with latex covering the full finger area The latex grips the socks firmly without slippage – a very important consideration. I chose the Large size and they fit snugly, but well. As I said, they make the process of putting on and taking off compression socks a little easier.Jerry Read more
I have been wearing compression stockings for 12 years, only on one leg due to post cancer lymphedema.I have always used the Sigvaris GREEN donning gloves, Last ones I purchased were blue and definitely NOT the quality of the green. Gripping power is less and glove is much lighter latex. Company insists only thing they changed was the color. I assume they found a manufacturer that was cheaper. In desperation I purchased this version of their glove, total garbage, not worth the time to return. Save your money. Read more
I have had trouble getting my knee high compression stockings on for fourteen years now. I have tried the recommended way to apply them that came with the socks and I've used the plastic contraptions that you slide the socks on them and then put your foot in, neither worked for me. I saw these on Amazon and decided to try them. I pulled my stockings on as far as I could then used the gloves to pull the stockings over the ball of my foot until it bunched up then pulled over my heel. So easy and so little time and best of all no broken nails. I would highly recommend these to anyone who wears knee high or higher compression stocking. Best purchase I ever made. Read more
Compression socks feel great once they are on, but what a pain to get there! They can also slide & bunch up over the course of the day. These gloves help so much. Their surface makes enough friction to push & turn the fabric on your body (without having to work a finger under it), get the heel pocket where it's supposed to be, unhook that pinkie toe, and smooth out the weave for a consistent pressure. Later in the day you can do a two handed stroke to offset those uncomfortable ankle wrinkles or toe bunching and get the fabric spread evenly once more. Read more
I had 3 medical procedure within 2 months that required I wear a thigh-high compression stocking for a full week after each. For a person used to wearing comfortable, casual clothes and living where the temperatures are always 80 degrees and higher - wearing this stocking was torture. The compression is ever stronger where the stocking is bunched up. You can't adjust it by reaching through the stocking and a winkle anywhere from the thigh down to the toe can be painful and increase swelling. These gloves have just enough nubs to be used to smooth out the stocking anywhere on your leg - so you can wear it longer and get more of the compression's result. Read more
I tried several different types of gloves for donning compression socks. They were either difficult to put on/take off, or they extended up my forearm so far I felt like I was preparing for surgery. These Sigvaris are excellent. Easy to put on and do not extend up my forearm, so I can move my arms freely. They are extra grippy (if that is a word). They are excellent at putting on compression socks. Read more
I was unable to find the small size for a reasonable price, so I ordered 3 medium pairs. While large on me, they still did the job. Unfortunately, the gloves' sizes were uneven, with one glove of a pair sized way too large, two of them sized smaller (which was great except they were both for the left hand), and another two sized really wide, . I've always liked this brand of glove but, with the sloppiness in sizing, it may be time to try a new brand. Read more
I ordered these simply because have had difficulty ordering the latex bright colored longer Sigvaris gloves I like in large recently. But, with first use, tiny black specks shed all over white sheets on bed and then we’re clinging to the thigh compression stockings I wear. A LOT of black specks. Just a bit of an annoyance. Also, not as good gripping compared to the latex version, I am ok with latex, but know many do have allergy to it. So these are an alternative. Read more
