Hi all,I wrote an earlier review singing the praises of this incredible shampoo, and I still stand by my accolades. However, with consistent use, I found this shampoo was TOO lightening (while still keeping my thin locks moisturized, shiny and fabulous, BTW).I realized I’d need to cut back on regular usage, but I still had a few areas that still I wanted to lighten up just a touch. Namely, there was one too-brown shock of hair in my bangs that I wanted to lighten.Then the question struck me: Could I use this shampoo as balayage?The answer is an emphatic YES!I sectioned out tiny bits of my dark shock with a highlighting comb, creating thin “baby-light” strands, and applied a very small amount of shampoo, and did the same treatment with a few dark strands near my temples. I let it dry and left it in overnight.The next morning - viola! - perfect, subtle shiny “baby-lights” that nicely broke up my dark patch at my bangs/temples!Before discovering that I could use Shikai shampoo on selective strands, I used John Freida spray-in lightener (drying, runny and tilts towards reddish tones) and a L’Oréal gel lightener (yielded very minimal lightening, even with repeat use and lots of heat). Neither were getting the job done for the tiny strands of highlights I was aiming for.Consequently, the Shikai shampoo used as balayage is a genius hack, even if I do say so myself!I have become so blonde that I’m thinking about putting in some low-light baby strands to give my hair some more dimension, and I’m considering getting the brunette shampoo and experimenting with it for subtle contrasting tones. I figure I’ll have very little risk with this natural, nourishing product.So, my original appraisal of this marvelous shampoo still stands, but if it’s lightening your hair just a little too much, reduce its regular usage, or better yet - try it as the easiest balayage treatment you’ll ever find.Thank me later! Not bad. The only thing I don't like it comes out of the bottle very quickly.My hair is naturally blonde but a darker blonde. When I hit the beach my skin stays white and my hair gets lighter. When I haven't gone to the beach in a while the roots are dark and the rest is light. So I bought this shampoo in hopes to pull some of my natural highlights in an attempt to even the dark vs light a bit. I think its doing its job. I've been using it for about a week now and I noticed today my hair was brighter and it looks more even. Its pulling and brightening my golden blonde/red colour. It leaves my hair clean feeling and non greasy. It also rinses easily and well. Leaving it managble and soft. I will defintely be buying this again. Read more

I love this product. I was trying to grow my grey hair out after years of coloring with highlights and lowlights. I use this to blend the grey in with the highlights. Adds lovely gold and soft yellow highlights. I really like the color and shine. No red just gold and no brassiness. It is conditioning without being heavy, greasy, or weighted. My hair is softer and my stylist noticed that my hair condition had improved. Have ordered 3 more bottles. I don't want to run out. Only recommendation is that the mouth of the tube is wide and a large amount of the product dumps in your hand. That much product is too much for one washing. What???? 2 uses and my grays are turning blonde. Must be the chamomile, as this has happen with go blonder but it was very drying.This Shampoo is NOT drying.It makes my hair beauful. Can I buy a gallon??? Read more

This is a really nice color-enhancing shampoo. Unlike other color-enhancing shampoos, this one leaves your hair feeling healthy, and not stripped or damaged. It truly does bring out my highlights. I am not a big writer of reviews, only when I am super impressed! This is one of those times!! I had highlights and immediately realized they were not warm enough. They weren’t totally ashy but definitely cooler then I had wanted. I actually asked my stylist if I should come back for toner or try a shampoo so she recommended this and a couple of others. I chose this because it’s natural and I didn’t want to put anymore chemicals on my hair. After ONE wash my hair was the golden blonde I had wanted from the beginning. Not only that, it was so soft!! After I used this, my pretty light blonde hair turned reddish brown, with chunks of dark "Raggedy Anne red" hair color. I don't even know how it turned my hair a darker color than the shampoo itself looks, but it did. It is because of the henna (lawsonia) in the ingredients. I had to scrub, and deep condition, and scrub some more with vinegar and baking powder for two hours. That got most of it out, but not all. Later I finally had to soap cap-bleach my head to get most of the rest of the dark color stain out. A tinge of dark gold never did get removed, and is still there. Read more

This creates a brightening effect without making your hair overly shiny as though it is a hairpiece or wig. It is also a pretty good conditioner unless you have really fine tangly hair. Then you will still need a cream rinse. I think I just ordered the creme rinse and conditioner as a matter of fact.I am pleased with the product over all as my hair has been colored and is also thinning and fine. It helps a bit with that double trouble. The other good thing is that though there are a lot of shampoos that would do most of what I mentioned, this one does not have a mow-you-down scent. My husband has allergies to scents but I can go to bed with my hair still wet and it does not seem to bother him. Read more

I am a long-time user of this excellent product and ordered it for a friend to try. There were some problems with the delivery and the seller was very responsive in helping resolve the issue, though it meant a slight delay because of Royal Post procedures. A resend of the product was successful, and my friend is impressed with the shampoo.This shampoo really does bring out the natural highlights and shades of one’s hair, largely due to the marigold extracts. If there are reviews about types of red streaking of the hair after using it, this is not likely accurate about this exact product, but something else, or perhaps the other shampoo line that contains henna, or some extraneous hair coloring item. But not this product! I have friends using other shades of the product (plat and warm) with no problems either. Read more
