First off, Shea Moisture is falling off!!! I have a bottle of this stuff that has natural ingredients in it. It’s not cheap and I really love the way this leave-in does my 4B low porosity hair! It has good slip and my coils feel so hydrated! So why mess with a good thing??? I went to repurchase and all I can find in stores is this new formulary that is full of alcohols. I was pleasantly surprised to find the original formula listed here on Amazon! The advertised product had the same natural ingredients as my bottle here at home. However, the product I received was the new cheaper formulary full of alcohol and unhealthy hair ingredients! Shame on you Shea Moisture and shame on Amazon for false advertising! The ingredients are completely different than in the picture. This is falsely advertised and a horrible product. The top ingredients of the product I was sent are water, stearyl alcohol, olea europaea fruit oil, behentrimonium chloride, cetyl alcohol, and THEN shea butter. I've been using Shea Moisture products for over six years, but I used to go to my local stores to buy this conditioner. However, I didn't like the packaging because the pump makes it harder to get the remaining product in the container. So when I saw that Amazon had the Restorative conditioner in a squeeze bottle that gives you more ounces than you get from the normal ones from the 'drug store', I ordered it immediately. It hasn't disappointed! I wear my hair naturally, and only use two products in my hair to set it - this conditioner as my leave-in and this apricot oil,  NOW Foods Apricot Kernel Oil (Liquid), 16 oz .The conditioner works well enough that I'm able to finger-comb my hair to detangle it - I don't use any combs or brushes - so e.g. it has pretty good slip, though I've use some conditioner that had better like KC Knot Today. However, I prefer the texture of this product. As I've said, I only use the Shea Moisture Raw Shea Butter Restorative Conditioner and apricot oil in my hair because it works best for my hair since my curls look great for as much as a week after setting - without any crunch. *I do set my hair with chunky twist - using the twist to stretch my hair, while keeping my already defined curls in place while it dries, not to define my curls because as soon as I put the conditioner in my hair, my curls pop.One more not of reference, I've bleached and use semi-permanent colors on it because it's fun, so my hair needs that bit of extra love and care that this conditioner gives. Also, I'm prone to getting dandruff - not dry scalp, that's different - especially if I use products in my hair that are too heavy because my scalp is sensitive and produce oil. However, my hair can get dry-ish, which is why I need a product that can seal moisture into my strands, yet not build up on my scalp - this does the trick perfectly. So this stuff works exceptionally well and I love that part of it. I actually bought it for my wife for her thinner and damaged hair but she hadn’t gotten to trying it yet.Soo, I thought I’d give it a try since mine needed some help too. Thick, coarse hair and very long (30ish”) but with pretty damaged ends.After using this once, it is remarkable how healthy and soft my hair feels (duh, Shea, Argan, etc). Almost like I forgot about the ends.However, the scent is just kind of unpleasant. And reeeally potent.I had a shower late last night and went to bed in another room after my wife already went to sleep in our bedroom. My wife woke up a couple hours after me today and said, “who’s wearing cologne?? I slept in the other room!! And I hadn’t even been in our room since the night before, and before my shower.I’m a guy. And she says it smells like strong guy’s cologne. I agree. Yes I’m a guy and it smells way too strong. Reading the ingredients, yep, “Fragrance (essential oil blend)”.Ohhh noooo,... Last time I dealt with those in a product was Meyers dish soap. I used it in a sponge once and it took 3-4weeks of regular use to get the smell out.Loose that one ingredient and you’d have a customer for life. I will only buy products not tested on animals or sold to countries who test on animals (China). Shea Moisture fits the bill. My favorite conditioner is the free stuff that comes with L'Oreal hair coloring kits. You use it once after coloring your hair for extra conditioning. I have never found a drugstore brand of conditioner that good, and I definitely don't support L'Oreal. But THIS -- I have hair that is almost curly but more just frizzy. I need tons of conditioning, and this stuff is delicious. I don't have to use half a bottle to get the effect I want like with some products. Just a cap full and total smoothness! I have tried all kinds of conditioners, hair serums and masks to add moisture back to my hair after dying it. This is the only thing I have found that works. I use it in the shower as a conditioner and I also put a dime size amount as a leave in conditioner. It has replaced the serum I was using. Today was a rainy day and my hair stayed frizz free....a true miracle. My mom recommended it to me. Her hair was a disaster from swimming all summer and dying her grey hair brown. This is a great conditioner with very nice consistency. It can be used as a rinse off or a leave-in. It smells amazing. I don't like it when my hair is very soft after a conditioner - it doesn't feel natural. This conditioner has a great slip and detangles really well, it strengthens and my hair feels natural afterwords - not too soft, and not dry. The smell is really nice too. Read more
