My hair just doesn't like Shea moisture in general, I have tried almost at least one product from every line and my hair just absolutely hates it. When I first I used the shampoo and conditioner I thought it was ok the smell was nice and not overbearing like the curl pudding. However, it is not moisturizing and doesn't have any lather and doesn't really clean your hair. I got this for the sole reason that it said it stops breakage well, it didn't and as a matter of fact it made it far more worse. My hair just started to shed worse then it already was and breaking off. The amount of hair that was coming off made me cry. Had to do an aphogee protein treatment which literally saved my hair. Very disappointed in the overall brand I try to give them another chance but my hair just hates shea moisture. Read more

Thank you for this product! It is wonderful in smell, quality, and moisturization! I also enjoy learning about Shea Moisture's company story and values. I don't put it at my roots because it would make it too oily (learned that from overhearing a girl in the locker room at work, thanks girl)--I only put it on the strands further from my head, all the way to the ends. Any little remaining product on my hand I lightly smear on the strands closest to my head if I've accidentally over-shampooed and its not slippery any more. I then twist all hair into two separate sections (as if I'm going to do pigtails), but I twist them upward like a big U shape on each side and use a typical salon plastic clip on each head side and let the moisturizer sink in for like two minutes until I've showered the rest below. Then I unclip, let the water wash off any remaining moisturizer (while making sure not to wash off all the moisturizer to the point that the strands are not slippery anymore), and all done. Gives a healthy, non-greasy-looking shine once it has naturally dried. If I use a hair dryer, I would put a leave-in conditioner at the ends and sections where I'm going to be heavily hair-drying (unless it's near the scalp, in that case, no leave-in conditioner there). After a couple washes with this shampoo and conditioner, I noticed my hair looked less frizzy. I thought I found my new favorite shampoo, but it had 1 major downside: HAIR LOSS. The amount of hair that was coming off my head was making me cry. It physically HURT my scalp. Even out of the shower when my hair was dry, I was finding loose pieces of hair that were half-fallen that I had to practically pull off my head. At first I thought it might be getting rid of the damaged hair, so I continued use of the shampoo + conditioner. But after weeks of use, I noticed the hair loss was only getting worse. I saw people were leaving reviews with the same problem! It’s unfortunate because this shampoo did make my frizz noticeably less, but I will be throwing the bottle away. I would not recommend this to anyone, this product destroyed my hair. Its pretty dank. I have thin blonde curly hair so finding products that are good for me is difficult. This smells good, but I only use it half of the time because it does not provide me with enough moisture, granted I do conditioning treatments 3x a week. I would like to find a conditioner that does it all but *sigh* I guess this is the best for now. Its a solid good conditioner, but if you need something really hydrating then go for something else, this is just a standard every day conditioner. If you have nice hair this is a good upkeep curl conditioner but if you have damaged hair like me (I work in a pool) this is not the best solution. Read more

I've bought several different SheaMoisture conditioners, and they are all fantastic. I have very long, curly hair, and this product does a great job of 1) removing tangles, 2) moisturizing my hair so I don't get gnarly dead ends, and 3) not making my hair oily or heavy. The conditioner is fantastic - the smell is great, not overly synthetic or sickly sweet.BUT - omg does the bottle suck!The pump is faaaaar too skinny for the consistency of the conditioner. This is a good product. My daughters hair is curly and a little dry at the ends. Used this and whilst it helped tame the curls it felt the same after a few days.
