Guys this right here is Amazing!! And smells yummy. I was looking for a product that had apple cider vinegar in it (wanted to start trying that in my hair), and a product that wasn't too heavy, oily, greasy or sticky on the hair. This is Amazing. It's only my second day using it and I'm pretty much blown away.... for $8!!!! I tried it yesterday for the first time and soon after putting it on I FELT THE DIFFERENCE. I rarely leave reviews because honestly I'm not impressed easily and don't fall for the hype of most products. However, I am Italian, have coarse brown hair that breaks off very easily and I have been looking for a product for years that would help. I really like this product. At first I thought it was gonna be heavy for my 2c hair. After about a few weeks I noticed a difference in my hair. It works well putting on wet hair at night and the next day my hair is soft and brings the curl back. I even use it very little too smooth my hair between washes and flat ironing. I purchased Shea Moisture Jamaican Black Castor Oil, Strengthen & Restore Styling Lotion, Moisturize & Style, 8 Oz out of desperation. My hair is often dry and frizzy from wearing hats and helmets and from being exposed to harsh environments and elements. I love this styling lotion. It works quickly on wet or dry hair. I am using it on almost a daily basis. It's wonderful! I admit that it has a slightly unique scent. I think it's caused by the apple cider vinegar, but I dont find it daunting or limiting. The scent dissipates quickly and I think the benefits outweigh the short term trouble of the scent. Read more

First of all I love Shea Moisture as a brand but they have had a history of being great for my specific hair type only with the deep conditioners and shampoos/conditioners and the stylers have always been too much for my hair.For reference I have very curly hair (3b/3c in texture) but my hair is actually rather fine without much volume. I have always found any of their stylers that I've tried to be moisturizing but too heavy and/or too greasy feeling on my hair. If that wasn't the case then the products have always flaked with everything I've used it with or been terrible once I had to re touch up my hair.This lotion has changed my mind somewhat about SM stylers for me. The consistency is more like a hair milk or lotion and not so creamy or thick which is what I like-not too light like a mist that will give me great volume but not nearly enough moisture and not heavy like a butter. It has good slip and left my hair baby soft without going overboard ( I used it once with my Devacurl Ultra Defining Gel and another time with Wetline Gel and both times I got the same result). It doesn't flake and it has 8 fl oz. which is not bad for the price.The cons with it are that it does have a clay like odor, it's a light hint but enough to be noticeable and the packaging is not the best. It would have been better with a pump instead of having to be squeezed because let me tell you, when your hands are wet it will be quite a time trying to keep your life together while applying this to your hair. I follow the curly girl method and have permed hair. This product is amazing. It has NO baddies. I cowash my hair and add just this to damp hair and diffuse or airdry it leaves a crunchy cast which i scrunch out with my hands! It produces the best defined curls ever with no frizz and my hair has a lovely gloss to it. Believe me ive tried any amount of mousses gels lotions an potions but nothing compares to this! Wonderful stuff for curly hair, i add a small amount on clean wet hair, let it air dry and then scrunch hair when dry to get rid of crispy feeling , left with super soft curls, no frizz, dont normally have to add any more between washes, just dampen curls and leave to dry.
