I bought this set after getting the Abby book alone as a gift. The set I received has different covers and are much easier to bend/made of a softer board. They look similar but the binding is also not as nice. Viewed from the top (in the picture) this can be seen more clearly - the inner book is from this set and the outer is the one I received as a gift. They also don't close back up nicely once opened, despite my attempts to wear it in a bit.Maybe the publisher changed manufacturing procedures with the cover change, or something like that. My toddler loves these books! I was kind of surprised that they have become her favorites, since they don’t have any of the “touch and feel” or “lift the flap” bells and whistles that she is usually drawn to. But for some reason, she just loves them!They are both educational and fun for kids because they are interactive... each page allows you to point to and identify shapes or colors, count objects, etc. I’ll be buying these for other kids in the future too! These are actually crap. I placed an order and it came and I received 2 of the Cookie Monster books and no Abby shapes book. So I called Amazon customer service, and they sent out another set to me that was delivered the next day (thank you amazon). But again, crap. I had an Abby shapes book this time, but the text inside of it was the Alphabet big bird book.I’m really upset that I have tried this item twice and couldn’t be successful. I replaced the original ones my mother bought for my daughter after she literally carried them around, bent them in half, folded them incessantly, chewed on them... Basically destroyed them. They're are super cute, very colorful and cute. I'll replace as needed but I'm sure she's just harder on board books than most toddlers. Read more

Bought these for my 2 year old child and loved them. They're not as durable as you'd think, they are semi food and fluid resistant but to a certain extent. My child LOVES to tear books apart but these have held up pretty well. They're simple but keep them entertained and inquisitive. Read more

I was given the Big Bird book of ABCs as a hand me down. It was so simple, it was perfect for my 1 year old. I decided to get the series since the one book was so good. The other books in the series are too advanced for a 1 year old. I will hold onto the books because eventually they will be useful.
