You could buy other earplugs from the other brands...and really, do so and then try these. You'll wish you bought these first.I work on a farm and between all the various noises I encounter in a day - tractors, trucks, equipment, tools, animals, mowing, and yes, people....these things are amazing and the best I've used. I have other earplugs from Milwaukee, Ryobi, Craftsman, Dewalt, 3M, plus other brands over the decades, and these Sellstrom are the best ones I've used to really drown out the loud noises of the day. Added bonus: the price. Due to their low cost, I have $100 worth in my locker at work and a few on the equipment I use most so I have them ready to go in case I forget to grab one. No complaints about the noise cancellation on these ear plugs. With the disposable, loose ear plugs, I usually have a problem because one of my ears has a canal that is either smaller or a different shape from the other. So one side always falls out when I wear individual loose ear plugs. I've used another type of banded ear plug in the past. It worked fairly well, but it would fall out because the shape of the band was a simple arc. So it would sometimes get bumped both when I wore the band on the back of my head and under my chin (because I need to wear a hard hat when I wear hearing protection). But the shape of this band does not protrude like an arc-shaped band, so these ear plugs stay in my ears consistently. I really like them and will definitely buy these again when this pair wears out or gets stepped on. Read more

These are good noise reduction earplugs. They worked fine when used under the chin but not so good when trying to wear Over the top of your head or behind your head. But they are very adjustable and a person should be able to adjust them to fit from any direction. Read more
It obviously wont be as good as a fancy headset that costs more but for just using an air hammer occasionally or loud grinding noises, these knock the edge off the sound to a tolerable level. Read more
The tension of the headbands is snug which is good for keeping the plugs in your ears on hot days when you are sweating a lot. But you need to take out one side periodically, while you're reloading your mags, to give your head a break from the tension. Read more

Not sure these cover the ear canal as they should, sound is not as loud but definitely not as good as similar style I’ve had in the past. I think the cone shape makes the end hit the ear, and then the rest of the cone doesn’t cover the ear canal as it should to seal. Nevertheless, not the sound protection I was hoping for. Do not use this on a construction site, tried it. This doesn't block noise from saws and compressors. This will help for home use such as if you live in a shared house. it should block noise levels commonly found at home.I just use them to sleep or to block out noise during meditation. Read more
These cut down noise quite a bit. You have to wiggle the ear pieces around in your ear to get the right fit. I wish the band was larger. When hanging on my neck I feel like they are choking me. Read more
